Q: Hi team, I have been sitting on some cash for a while and started looking at BMO ZUT equal weight utilities ETF. It is off its recent highs and generating a nice 5.3% yield. I was wondering if investors are beginning to rotate out of safer utilities and would this then be a buying opportunity? I am looking at it for an RRSP.Thoughts?

Q: ATP is almost at its 2009 lows...isn't it very over sold here or have things deteriorated that much in this company besides the dividend cut to justify the share collapse? Thanks for all you investment advise!!

Q: Hi Peter and Team, Thanks for your comments on RIFCO (RFC) recent results. Do you have any comments on recent volatility in SP? After recording a high of $4.98, SP has declined consistently to as low as $4.15. Is it a good buy at current prices? Do you foresee more profitable growth in company's business during 2013/2014 and a possibility of dividend? How does it compare with CFN in valuation and future prospects/competition? When do you plan to cover this co.?

Q: Can you please provide some comments on convertible bonds and the role they can play in the fixed income portion of a portfolio? Basically I would like to know if a convertible bond ETF such as CVD would be considered a legitimate fixed income holding, and how an ETF like this would be expected to behave in a downward market. For example, if I wish to hold 20% fixed income, would it be appropriate to have some of this amount comprised of a convertible bond ETF? Finally, as I plan to hold this in a non-registered account, any comments on the "tax advantaged" mechanism employed by CVD would be appreciated. Many thanks.

Q: First National Financial (FN) has a preferred (fn.pr.a), 4.65%,cumulative,rate-reset every 5 years, issued at $25PV in January 2011, trading now at $17.50 to yield about 6.5%. I purchased 3000 a few months ago at $17 and am considering another 2000 shares. This would then be about 10% of my portfolio. The dividend seems to be well covered. I am after dividend income with a little growth.

Q: Reading your response on National bank (NA) dating Feb 21, 2013, you were right on the money re its growth outlook. Their financial results were somewhat "boring" - neither up/nor down which is in-line with your comments. Other than distributino of dividends (and possibly peace of mind), would you see any other reason to own this stock. Some of the other banks such as TD and RBC seem to be firing on all cylinders. And would Scotia or one of the other banks probably offer a good mix between National Bank and one at the opposite extreme? Thanks again.

Q: Hi 5i team, as someone not versed in the niceties of accounting, I have difficulty understanding both sides of the argument in the article in today's Globe's ROB on Just Energy's EBITA statements. Q: AM eanings for last year were significantly above the previous year, which should suggest another dividend increase or special dividend.Insider selling seems to reduce the market for this stock.Have you met with or talked to the management?How long can this insider selling last?Do you still think the stock is worth about $4.00.
