Q: I would like to add a reit and utility. I already own hr and bep could you please recommend 2 of each with reasonable growth. Thanks.
Q: It sounds like the Growth Portfolio will have around 25 stocks, a few more than the other portfolios. I know diversification is needed to reduce risk, and am wondering if a large number (30?) of smaller cap names could ever provide the same risk level as a 'standard' portfolio of 20 securities. Would you ever suggest this type of strategy? Thank you for a great service!
Q: Your take on company and is it a buy at these levels for income
Q: I'm a bit of a gambler. Witch one and Y. Thanks J
Q: share price up nicely this year. has something changed in the outlook for this reit? it reported earnings last week and the market seemed to approve.
Q: I have been around the block a few times on the question of fixed income in asset allocation. I have often wondered about Warren Buffet's famous advice to his wife on his death--that she should buy an ETF for the Amercian market and 10 per cent in fixed income. I have always wondered why the 10 pecent in fixed income? It doesn't protect very much of your wealth if there is a downturn. But, then again, neither does 20 or even 30 percent, I would think. So, it occurred to me that he suggests this simply in case there is a downturn and cash is needed. He doesn't think that you will likely need more than 10 per cent to get over the hump. I know that, despite your other talents, you are not a mind reader. But, do you think that this would be a reasonalbe interpretation of Buffet's advice? And reasonable for at least a good many people?
thanks
thanks
Q: What are your views on Veev's earnings report and future outlook for this company? I bought a small position last week (less than 1%) at $30.50. Should I add to it?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: Could you please give your opinion on these?
Are they worth holding or switch to good large caps?

Q: What is your opinion about SNN and why dropped today? Thanks.ebrahim
Q: Your thoughts on POT buying into the Brazilian co. Heringer. Do you think acquiring 9.5% guarantees that Heringer purchases POT's potash. Pot's share price dropped on the news, is this of no consequence. Thx Gerry
Q: Hi 5i,
What are your thoughts on CRH at current levels? Stock has finally corrected after going straight up like a stick. Stock seems relatively cheap (compared to other health care cos.) at around ~8x ev/ebitda. Company seems to have two fantastic business segments with the ability to grow accretively via a roll up strategy. Would you recommend buying more shares at the current level? Have you ever met management or have a view on them? I'm debating whether to add more Intertain or CRH to my portfolio currently. thx

Q: I came across AET.UN. I went over some of the answers/comments provided by this site to questions asked by members over the years. To your credit, you "never really liked the company" but I noticed there was really no strong sell conviction (I know you don't use the term, but you understand) when there certainly was enough evidence things were going terribly. Price action/money flow is the ultimate fundamental. A lot of us were sandbagged especially because of "chasing yield" or Eric Tremblay's record at Enerplus. Any lessons? What checks and balances exist at 5i to ensure minimizing this sort of implosion.
Q: Hello, I'm trying to pick up the remainder of the company's that I don't have from the Model Portfolio. The ones I still need are: DSG, ESL, FSV, MG & SLF.
With the exception of SLF, these companies are at or near their 52 week highs; so should I wait for a bit of a pull back, before I pick them up? And what about SLF, should I wait to hear about interest rates to increase before jumping in?
I'm also a little hesitant to grab anything at this time in anticipation of your new portfolio that is soon to come out. Any firm dates for that?
I know market timing is difficult or impossible to predict, but any advice would be appreciated.

Q: Hi 5i team,
How do we estimate present value of CPP & OAS? I roughly use $100,000 for each $500 monthly income based on typical annuity from insurance companies. Is this okay or should we use a PV formula? Thanks

Q: PNP seems to have found new life after Mr Inwentash has departed.
Can you say why this uptick has started? Is it because Mr I has stopped removing so much money for himself so the stockholders can now finally benefit?
Or is new management now finally looking after the store? Any prognosis?

Q: Hi,
Mart Resources has an offer of .80 a share on the table. I currently own over 10, 000 shares at .99 and the share price hasn't moved much today. Would it be wise to buy more to try to lower my share price to minimize my loses?
