Q: Hello and thanks for all of the great responses and reports.

I bought MG in the $35 range and have enjoyed the run up but think it is pretty much fully valued. I have trimmed some earlier this year and would like to move out of it into a lifeco which most folks seem to think have more room to run. Which big boy do you think has better upside SLF or MFC?

I know you like Sun Life (SLF) but I am wondering if it is also the best choice relative to other Canadian insurers in terms of it's potential upside due strictly to an orderly rise in rates?

Could you give me your thoughts on CNQ Canadian Natural Resources. Back in June you answered some questions thinking it may start looking good but I have only seen it continue to drop and it looks like it is going to be a very bad day today for it.

Q: Hi 5 I Team -- Might there be any further insight into Linamar's (LNR) performance, of late? After its 52-week high in June, it's been on a very slow, but steady decline, despite a very good last Quarter. There is much rumbling among analysts that the automotive industry is "nearing its peak" and that investors in the auto sector should be thinking of taking their profits. I am up 24.9% at this point, and would prefer not to see my profits erode anymore, especially as I don't have an exceptionally long time frame for this portfolio -- less than 2 years. Do you feel the auto sector has had its day, or is it just September Doldrums? I notice that Magna, AutoCanada also have been grinding to a slow halt. Is this just a resting period for the sector, or is there something flying under the radar that most ordinary investors are missing?

Good Day. A question for registered accounts only and switching between similar ETF's. I have held the Vanguard S&P500 etf for quite sometime and have a good size but unrealized capital gain. Except for probably a few basis points difference in MER's, tracking error or yield what would be your opinion in selling the Vanguard product and then taking the proceeds to buy the same IShares product? My thought process is to switch between like etf's realizing the capital gain to get this gain now working for me, and while making sure portfolio weightings are also maintained.
Is this a reasonable portfolio strategy to enhance returns with minimal risk. Also, this would not be a trading strategy but a long term process as capital gains hopefully grow over a couple of years.

Q: Oil and gas. My portfolio is likely underweighted in this sector (7%). I would consider increasing it via ETF. Do you have recommendations for ETF's in this sector (Canadian only preferred).

Q: PUR... Pure Technologies

Right now according to BNN, 87% of revenue for PUR comes from water and waste with only 7% coming from O&G.

Considering the hoops LNG has to go through to secure approvals for new pipe lines - and understandable so - it seems to me this 7% should be increasing dramatically over the coming years which should bode extremely well for PUR and their new technology designed to monitor and detect pipeline faults and failures.

With that in mind, this stock to me appears to be a no brainer.

Is there something I am not aware of that could change this? What competition does PUR have? Is there another technology out there that is doing the same job? Would you recommend a buy at this time for PUR or a wait and see?

Q: Peter and Team--Looking at your Model Portfolio and the outstanding return --but there is 4 stocks that are negative since inception and 5 negative YTD--Since you are still holding them then you obviously still believe in them--would it not be a good idea for us to give serious consideration to buying them?

I hold both SLF and IFC in my retirement account. Are they different enough that I can hold both or should I get rid of one? Do you still like IFC for growth and dividend growth? I also hold several other financials: banks and REITs so I would remain diversified. Thanks!

I have started a few months ago my own Canadian health sector ETF with a position in Catamaran (CCT), Concordia Health (CXR) and Knight Therapeutics (GUD); I am now thinking of adding Cipher Pharma (DND) and Biosyent (RX) but they are way in "overbought" territory.

I cannot find too much on this dividend payer. What can you find about this stock and your thoughts on ownership for income.

To be honest I'm not sure what to ask. Growth seems to be continuing along very nicely with another new high reached last week and it appears to be maintaining this week. It's in an industry that is sure to see growth over the next number of years considering our medical costs as a whole.

After not getting much attention, in the past 6 months it has been seeing much more attention. I know you do not like using target pricing in our buy/sell strategies, but can you at least tell me if you feel this company has upside (I know the risk) and if you would recommend a buy at this time?
