Q: I would appreciate your view on Sprott (SII). It pays a 4% dividend and has no debt. It has beaten up with the rest of the resource sector. Is is currently trading under $3.00. Do you think this is a good time to take a position?

Q: How do you determine an entry point for a growth company such as ESL? Do you go in at market and ride it up or would you wait for a pullback to say the 50 day moving average? What I am asking, it seems to me that the buy point for a growth company is determined differently from a value stock? Thank you.
Q: Is Horizon's U.S. Dollar Currency ETF (DLR) a straight-forward play on the value of the American dollar vs the Canadian dollar and therefore a logical way to short the Canadian dollar going forward? Thanks!
Q: Do you think this a good time to load up on SJ given it's recent pullback?
Q: Veresen (VSN) - buy, sell or hold? Tx
Q: HNL,MRE: It seems that two money management cos.had prior info. on HNL's poor profit this quarter and they downgraded the company. This is further evidence that the retail investor is being played the goat.Don't you think the regulator should be on top of this immediately?
MRE has been going up in price recently. Any rumors floating around that you may have heard.
Thanks for your help and support.

Q: With the seemingly increasing scrutiny over crude being shipped via rail, could this have a negative impact on EFN's growth prospects? One of their largest growth areas seems to be in railcar leasing. On the topic, are there other companies that may be especially at risk due to this? I wouldn't be surprised if new regulations come in to limit the use of DOT-111. One article I read said that this could cause a large expense for leasing companies - if they need to upgrade their fleet.
Q: I am looking for a stock to add to my TFSA realizing that if it goes bust there is no recourse vis-à-vis a tax loss or replacing the capital. I currently hold CUS & CFN and only have $7100.00 sitting in cash right now.
Q: Could I get your comments on Northern Spirit (NS - Toronto Venture Exchange)? Tx
Q: Do you see any major reason for the fall in Pulse Seismic (PSD) and would now be a good entry?
Q: AAPL: Apple. Down 7% or so today. Icahn buys another $500 M. Is the market right or is Icahn right? I had been holding on to my Apple shares expecting better results. Is there another US stock with better potential (e.g. Qualcomm) for me to switch into or should patience rule the day for a while yet?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Q: Peter and Team,
Just a general question --- what are your thoughts on this "emerging markets crisis".

Q: ERF Enerplus has done really well in the past year. I still expect quite a bit more due to their significant growth in production in the US. Question is the Ex-dividend date is Feb 3, the record date is Feb 5. What is the purpose of the ex-dividend date being different than the record date. Is it the record date that counts as to whom gets the dividend.

Q: Peter - It looks like this downturn in the markets may go on for sometime. I never knew that the chinese shadow banking system was worth $7 trillion dollars and now analysts are actively saying that it is only a matter of time before one of these banks goes under. That should be a real treat to the market. With Argentina etc. things look like it could be very nasty for awhile. I know you would say that we should hold tight but there must be a hedging system that we can use either with US or Canadian money to protect ourselves. What do you recommend as a strategy to protect ourselves.
Q: Bombardier[bbd.a]has recently had some bad news on deliveries of their planes and the price has dropped over fifteen percent. What is your opinion of this company and do you think the stock is worth holding for future gains.
Q: Hi Team: any comments on IRG results? Profits are up but the market doesn't seem to like the SSS? with debt down and cash flow up, what do you think at this price? thanks
Q: Hi Peter & Team
I am not well versed in advanced accountng & am an amateur investor. Could you please explain why Sales Force.Com (CRM) and Netsuite (N) on NYSE, stock prices keep rising even though their income statements show several years of Operating Losses. I thought the market punishes non-profitable companies.
