Q: I am building an income portfolio to live fully off the dividends and therefore am mainly interested in yield in quality companies and not capital gains. What are your thoughts on investing 10% each into ETO.US (Y8.72%) and EOI.US(Y7.52%) to make up up 20% USD of my income portfolio?

Q: Hello - bought some shares in the summer of 2014. The share price has since declined approximately 50% since then and the dividend practically all but eliminated. Would you recommend holding with a view for the long-term, or do you feel that the risks of continuing to hold this stock are too high?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: Insiders-Kingsett & Jon Love-have been buying INN in huge volumes the last 6 months or so(bought 1.047m shs on May 19 to 21).In Oct 21,the stock was $5,then increased to about $6.56 high on Jan 21/15,& since then been on a steady decline to close @ $5.49 on May 21/15.I am confused,so please explain. Is this a good time to average down as I have a small position @ $5.94.Appreciate your normal great services & opinions

Q: Hi There
What are your thoughts on this for a small part of an income portfolio.
Resets seem trickier to evaluate that was first apparent.
Thanks
David

Q: I am looking to add a large cap liquid dividend paying stock. Already own BNS, T and ENB. Need to add one more stock - perhaps CN or CP - your thoughts.
Q: Today, Scotia upgraded Power Corp's price target to 38. Considering it's at 32, its last quarter was better than usual and the PE of 10x, I then look at technicals on TD Waterhouse. Short-term signals are more bearish than bullist (9 versus 5). I scratch my head...
How can I know if technicals are worth considering when deciding to buy a stock? Are there a few signals you always look at? Maybe resistance levels (setting limit buy orders right above a support)? I'm not a day trader, but I would like to use technicals if on average it gives me better prices.

Q: Today Shopify started publically trading. Based on the market sentiment, do you feel like there is potential for investors to get in at this price?
Q: What are your current thoughts on Enerflex, relative to other companies of this size. Do you view it more or less favourably than comments of the past few years. I own a small position, should I buy, sell, hold.
Thanks, Mike
Thanks, Mike
Q: Could you compare the two supply chain companies Kinaxis (KXS) aqnd Tecsys (TCS) wrt growth of revenues, profitability, etc. Thanks.
Q: Peter, a few weeks back, there was talk of a liquidity issue with bond ETFs, Vanguard bond funds, etc.
Many of these players have arranged a line of credit with banks to handle large redemptions in a "crisis" bond market. I hold CBO (TSX), TD Short Term Bond fund and TD Mortgage fund. How would my holdings be affected in such a market? Would the CBO bid/ask spread widened? Are the TD funds closing day NAV prices based on the closing Bid (which could collapse in a crisis)? Any insight would be appreciated. BTW...great service!!

Q: Re the recent drop, there is concern that the new government in Alberta may phase out coal by 2020. Capital Power's coal plants will last at least 10 years longer so this would be a significant hit to the value of their capital. addition: On my earlier question,I stated that the NDP platform favored closing coal plants in 2020 - it should have read, 2030. CPX plants are expected to be operational to 2040 - they are in good shape - so if the government follows through it will be a negative and require higher capital spending.
Q: could I get your opinion on Wellgreen, do you see them ever building the mine, can they finance it. And your outlook for platinum
Thanks

Q: When you calculate insider ownership, do you count shares such as options, indirect ownership and restricted rights shares equally with directly held shares. Now that CXV have started their acquisition process what is their insider holdings percentage? Is there any indication of what the contributions of these two acquisitions will be towards CXV's bottom line?
Q: Can you please comment on the tax implications of the FSV split for shares held in a taxable account (e.g. capital gains, etc). Would you advise selling at this point and possibly re-buying at a later date, or holding through the split? Thank you.
