Q: Hello, I originally bought ACQ at 81 dollars. It was 2 percent of my portfolio. It fell to 48 dollars today which is about 1 percent of my portfolio so I just bought enough to bring it back up to two percent. Was this a mistake? Why had it fallen do much? I thought low gas prices usually equated to an increase in car sales?

Q: I would appreciate your assessment of the announcement this morning by Kelso Technologies as follows...
Association of American Railroad has approved our new JS165H high-flow pressure relief valve for commercial applications after completing its required two year field trial. The JS165H has been designed for use on general service rail tank cars carrying hazardous and non-hazardous non-flammable chemicals that require a pressure specification of 165PSI. Rail tank cars requiring this technology are primarily DOT-111 tank cars that represent approximately two-thirds of the total DOT-111 fleet in North America.
North American chemical companies have been very supportive of the development of the JS165H as a best available technology and we are now able to supply their needs. Management believes that this development will allow Kelso to increase its market share and continue the momentum of its annual revenue growth.
With this AAR approval Kelso is now able to supply approximately 70% of all PRV applications required by the AAR. The JS165H is well suited for new tank car manufacturers, retrofit operations and repair facilities. The Company is able to produce this product in its current production facilities in Bonham, Texas.

Q: How important is the acquisition of Studon to sox, can they really afford it, and will this make them a great company. Is this a great company to invest in for a 3-5 year period or are their better choices at this time? I already own a lot of energy and gold companies. Thank you for your help. Q: I have been watching two stocks this year that have fallen off a cliff. Canexus (cus) and Horizon North (hnl). Both of these stocks are down more than 60% this year. Are these dead companies or are either of them 2015 comeback candidates?

Q: Enbridge is up substantially today (Great!), but I'm not sure why transferring $17b to anther company creates so much value?

Q: I am looking at some of the oil stocks and see SGY and PD for example are trading at or below book and with a P/CF of less than 5 (based on stats from TD's web broker). Both pay dividends, though these may yet get cut a bit. Sure there is likely to be volatility for a while, but if not these, what metrics would you use to say it is time to start overweighting some of the sector?

CALIFORNIA'S "BAD ACTOR" PROVISION. California’s first new online poker bill, AB9, has been introduced by
California Assemblyman Mike Gatto. According to Canaccord Genuity Tech Analyst Robert Young, the bill as written (and it
will be contested) is a mild negative for Amaya, as it would exclude PokerStars and Full Tilt from participation in California (a
"bad actor" provision). The bill appears to be much like draft legislation released last year by a coalition of 13 native tribes led
by Pechanga and San Manuel, which have been vocal in opposition to PokerStars. While a negative on the face, it is just an
initial step in the process. As noted recently, this coalition against PokerStars was weakened when San Manuel joined a separate
group aligned with Amaya. A successful passage of this bill will require negotiation for support to get a successful 2/3 vote in
both the California Assembly (which reconvenes January 6) and Senate. Young says we are likely to see competing legislation
introduced given indications from at least one other Assemblyman (Reggie Jones-Sawyer).

Q: The other day Jeff Rubin, on BNN, talked about his 2008 thesis for $200 oil; and how the shift in world oil industry dynamics has altered the competitive landscape and hence oil prices. His current position is that oil prices will continue to fall until the high or highest cost producers cut back or shut down production, namely and mostly, Canadian Oil Sands players; but also US shale plays as well. Until these companies do cut back he expects oil prices to continue down. Where the bottom is no one knows.
In his mind, it is naive to look to Saudi Arabia (the low cost producer) to cut back at all.

Do you agree with his reasoning?
And do any oil sands or shale companies come to mind that might capitulate and reduce production?

Temperatures are dropping in the US big time and another cold winter is likely. Natural gas is a major fuel source for both heat and electricity. It is produced as we all know largely as an "associated gas" when oil is pulled out of the ground.

According to S&A Resource Report, Natural Gas supply/inventory is at a 5 year low in the US. And at $60 PB many of the oil producers will be shutting down less profitable wells in turn reducing NG production when it appears it may be needed the most.

My question is this... which well managed NG producing Canadian Companies would you recommend? And what is your view on my above comments?

Which Sector would you fit Amaya into? Consumer Discr. or Info Tech?? Also is it not trading today? My TD accounts show it frozen at a certain price ($37.70 and not moving all day). Also I would just like to say, I have done so well (excepting energy 10% down to 6% due to falling prices), having fun and am learning so much, since I joined in March/14. thank you thank you

Q: To Rick's question of Dec. 1 regarding Birchcliff's dividend: Birchcliff's preferred shares pay 0.50 per quarter. There is also bir.pr.c, paying a bit less.

Q: I curently have some cash to invest in my portfolio which for the most part is now similar to the model portfolio (thanks to your advice!) I am under my allocation in all sectors (3 to 4% range) so I have flexibility where to add. You mentioned in a recent response to Tim that Surge (SGY) has good upside potential when the market turns from this recent sell off. Do you have a few other suggestions that you feel have the portential to recover quicker relative to others? thanks again and again. John

Q: Hello 5i team,

Was very surprised to not find any comments/questions in the forum on ENB after a 10.53% jump in share value today.

I have read about the increased div as a result of the massive restructuring plan in place. Is there any other reasons you know of for the jump? And with this increase, my portfolio allocation has risen to 6% - would you recommend a trim?
