Yet they have the nerve to state that they made 15% last year but not on the $25.00 face but after in sank to close to $800.00 VOTE AGAINST GIVING THEM THE RIGHT TO RENEW GET YOUR MONEY BACK AS OF DEC. 31st VOTE NO george

Q: Hi, I'm considering selling my Qualcomm (QCOM) for Electronics For Imaging (EFII), selling my Oracle (ORCL) for Verizon (VZ), and buying Celgene (CELG) with some unused $US. What do you think? Do you see any issues with any of these? Thanks a lot.
Q: What do think about aa ? ,I have owned it for a while it doesn't seem to move much

Q: Good Morning all, I have been working on building a 5i portion of my investments since December when I became a member. Each month I have been adding one or two stocks. Overall, I am deploying roughly 15% of my total investments to stocks covered by 5i. The other 85% of my portfolio is well diversified in a variety of Mutual Funds, ETF's and fixed income GIC's. The stocks I have purchased and the current weighting are as follows:
Carfinco - 4.12%
Parkland - 13.72%
Ag Growth - 6.56%
A&W - 3.6%
Brookfield Energy - 12.38%
Cineplex - 5.94%
CML - 2.99%
H&R Reit - 4.78%
K-Bro - 9.82%
Liquor Stores - 7.5%
Richards Pkging - 5.52%
Black Diamond - 5.97%
Boston Pizza - 5.5%
Goldcorp - 4.03%
Healthlease - 2.67%
I will have cash to invest in early July. My questions are:
1. Should I be picking another stock or buying more of one I already have?
2. If I should buy another name, what would you pick? If I should buy more of a current holding which would you recommend?
3. Should I sell or switch out any of the current names I hold?
Thanks again for your awesome service...best available on-line!!

Q: Hello:
I have some cash in my portfolio
I am thinking of putting some money into the BMP ETF ZPR
which is the laddered preferred share index EFT
With the threat of looming increase of interest rate which
will decrease the value of bonds, what would happen to
the value of prefer shares ?
I am thinking of putting the money for long term to generate
a steady source of income
Thanks!
Michael

Q: Hello, do you like TSM Taiwan Semiconductor? esp if it drops back a little ? thanks.
Q: EFN Element Financial: Will rising interest rates hurt or help this company? Also, Between Magna MG and McDonald Detweiller MDA, which would be a better (growth) choice at this point, all other things being equal. Thanks for excellent service.
Q: Hello,
What are your thoughts on Points International (PCOM, PTS:TO)? Seems to fit the bill of the type of company you like to follow.
Thank you.

Q: Peter,
I read your most recent article "Independant Investor" and I was interested by the ETF with ticker VIG that you discussed. I currently have all of my funds denominated in either Canadian Dollars or gold/silver bullion. I like the idea of the VIG but am a little concerned of buying a US-Dollar asset in a world where the US Dollar is being printed from thin-air. Any thoughts on risks here or if one might be better off buying some sort of CAD hedged version of that ETF?
Thanks and once again, great service. I look forward to seeing you on Market Call Tonight on Friday (already set my PVR!)

Q: 1. In your Model Portfolio, several companies have a NR (no rating). I wonder if you can explain that. I imagine that there may be several reasons, some more important than others.
2. I have followed Brookfield for a long time as I used to know an executive at Brascan many years ago. I would appreciate it if you could comment on the different stocks under that name.
Gary

Q: Good morning Peter and the 5i team, In the preamble to your model portfolio, you state: "Each individual investor needs to decide what exposure they should have to bonds, preferred shares, cash and other investments based on his or her own unique circumstances." My target is 60% stocks (chosen mainly from your recommendations), 20% bonds, 10% preferred shares, and 10% cash. If you had to choose among several ETFs for the bond, preferred share, and cash portion of such a portfolio, what ETFs would you recommend? Thanks for your excellent service and advice.
Q: Hi, Peter
Do you think that the Glencore offtake agreement reinforces my views form March 26 on the potential sale of Orbit. I also thought that Veolia or Rio might be potential candidates for purchasing the company, the offtake may scare them away or, better force them to outbib. This is positive.
Also, does an offtake may include a clause of first refusal?
Your comments as always will be most appreciated.

Q: Hello 5I,
I would like your opinion on a small Canadian Company, Lassonde Industries (LAS). It was brought to my attention by a good friend whose children use their juices etc. No analysts cover the company but Thomson Reuters stock reports rates it a 10 (I have never seen such a high rating). Its 3yr chart is excellent and it actually pays a 1.8% dividend.
One of its problems is that it is vvvery thinly traded. Do you have an opinion on the company and if it is positive how would you approach stepping into such a thinly traded stock?
Thanks,
Bob Ahearn

Q: I own some MRG, and disappointed that it is down so much. I thought a new reit with US purchases and excellent parent would do well. Not so? Your comment please. The Div is good but no growth? Thanks Phyl in BC
