Q: Hi Peter, Ryan and all at 5i

My question concerns a small position that I own in CHW. It's a nice little company that largely flies under the radar.

The reason I bought stock in CHW is that I have a feeling that the Company will not be around for long (either privatized or taken out).

However, I have been studying the recent results from TF and its operations and it looks to be a better investment.

How would feel about switching Chesswood for Timbercreek?

Thank you

Q: I note that buyouts are increasing among the small cap stocks. Today alone Lumenpulse and Canam are going private at nice premiums. IRD also gone this month. I am not sure if this is the start of a trend. Are there any companies you would consider as buy-out targets in the next 9 months? I have my eye on Ten Peaks.

Q: I have always been interested in this company but have never "pulled the trigger". In an answer to a question yesterday you indicated you consider it presently a good value stock. What valuation metric are you using? Scotia Itrade gives two p/e valuations, 14.4 and 16.2. Stockreports+ says is have a trailing p/e of 7.3 and a forward p/e of 9.6. What valuation are you currently putting on this stock? Thank you. Bill.

Hello Peter. I have a 1.2% position in Chesswood for income and some growth, and am down 32% at present. The data I see on the company is:

Dividend $0.84, Yield 6.8%, POR 75%, P/E 7.5. Earnings $1.12, so to me it looks pretty good.

How solid do you think the company is and do you think the dividend is reliable and sustainable over the long run? Would you advise doubling my position at this price.

Thank you............ Paul K

Q: I have been looking at CHW, as a small holding, for income. In the last couple weeks it is down about 10%. This makes it look more attractive, but I can't help but wonder if something is up. What is your opinion of CHW, and is there any reason you can see for the recent price decline? What is the payout percentage, and your view on the dividend sustainability?
Thank-you

Q: I recently added a small position in CHW primarily for the nice yield and low PE valuation and low payout ratio. I also like their US focus. The stock price is up nicely since I added and I was thinking of adding to it or starting a position in CBL. I am a long term investor (10+ years time horizon). Would you have a preference of one over the other?
Thanks

Q: You noted recently that CHW was sensitive to interest rates but otherwise was doing well. The share price also looks as though it could be stabilizing so in a rising rate/economic environment how much of a problem are interest rates? I would have thought that lease rates were relatively flexible and could adjust to accommodate the effects of an improving business environment resulting in an overall improvement in profitability. Would you like to revisit this issue? Thank you.
