Q: Hi, as a follow up to your recent response for larger portfolios on using hedged products, real estate and large caps, can you please provide some further recommendations for these ? I have set up 3 seperate portfolios - eft portfolio recommendations from the moneyletter , your equity portfolio , and the new fixed income portfolio with an investment ratio of 2:2:1.

Q: Hi 5i team,
Please give some background in building your income portfolio with regard to
a) WSP....an interesting choice considering your favorite is STN
b) SGY selection over so many good oil companies
c) FLOT with 0.4% yield as oppose to GIC

SPB, VNR and ET are excellent surprises we do not read regularly

Q: I know you believe a portfolio should not hold more than 20 names, at least i think you believe that.
But if your managing 2 or 3 million dollars in one portfolio, do you still only hold 20 names. In other words my question is no matter the size of the portfolio do you always hold only 20 names.dave

Q: Hi 5i team:

Sterigenics has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase Nordion (NDN) for $11.75US/share, with Nordion's Board of Directors approval, a termination fee of $12 Million (US) and a reverse break fee of US$24 million, what are the possible situations would prevent this transaction from proceeding? From previous 5i answers from other stock buyout, my plan is to sell ½ of my shares to the market and the remaining ½ of my shares to tender versus 1/3 to market, 1/3 for higher offer and 1/3 tender since another buyout offer is unlikely to occur. What do you think of this plan?

Stantec, after a big growth spurt from June to December has flattened out the last 3 months. Do you see significant further growth for this company? I know that after significant growth stocks seem to consolidate for a while but just curious what your thoughts are.

Q: Hello Peter & Co.
I came across yesterday with 2 names that aroused my interest.
One of them is Knight Therapeutics (GUD-V); same team as Paladin Labs and our Pharma sector in Canada is very limited.
The other is Kelso Technologies (KLS-V) which produces among other things pressure release valves; a very topical subject related to railcar safety.
Could you please comment on them?
