Q: I add new money to the model portfolio on a regular basis, is the idea to always top up the companies which have the lowest current % allocation (for example BDI and G) or what do you recommend for new money in the Equity portfolio?
You have a 1/2 position with the new names (FM and WCP), I assume thats the recommendation until you change that?

Q: Hello 5i team,
I am wondering if there is an update on the growth portfolio. Are you still planning on initiating this in the new year? If so, would it likely begin at the start of the year, in March like the other two portfolios, or potentially later in the year? One final question: is it safe to assume the growth portfolio will have roughly 20 stocks as well?
Thanks in advance,
Rory

Q: Peter, only for the information file, I spoke with management at Surge this week. They told me the dividend is safe and they will protect it at all costs. They said they had prepared for this scenario in oil and would see there commitment on dividend through. Who do you believe, analysts or the boss of the company. I will take the boss of the company, Ken

Q: I hold both SPB(in your income portfolio) and WCP(in your model portfolio). Do you still support both of these companies? Are their dividends secure? Is there any news regarding each of them or are their respective pullbacks just part of the energy collapse as of late. Would you suggest I continue to hold them? Thanks, as always for your valuable guidance.

Q: Will you be editing - adding and deleting companies - from your Summary listings for 2015?

For those of us new to 5I, who didn't invest in your original Model Portfolio and thus haven't benefited from the wonderful returns you have made, I was wondering if you would consider offering a new Model Portfolio for 2015, based on companies you currently really like and that are at good valuations right now and have great growth opportunities ahead. Many thanks for your time and expertise!

Q: Hello 5i team,

I would like your opinion please...

Warren Buffet is not the end all do all but there is no question he has some very solid insights. One of his idioms is "be fearful when others are greedy, and be greedy when others are fearful."

With the recent falling of O&G stocks like WCP, I have been watching Relative Strength Index (RSI) with the hopes of finding an over sold equity and taking advantage.

On a RSI scale of 0 - 100 it is widely thought a stock is considered to be oversold if the RSI falls below 30.

on Thursday WCP RSI was 29.5 after changing hands as low as $11.395 per share. By comparison, the current RSI reading of the S&P/TSX Composite Index is 44.9.

Today WCP is trading around $11.60. Would you consider WCP oversold at this time and that taking on a "greedy" attitude would be wise? Or would you advise to wait until after tax loss season is over before moving in today?

Thanks for all you do

Gord

Q: I have some new money to invest. Still working at 56 but plan to retire in the next 5 years. Plan is to live primarily off dividends when I retire. I have no company pension. I am fortunate in that in a worst case scenario I could still work part time if this does not work out. Would you advise investing in the complete model income portfolio or the complete model portfolio. Both have done well. My gut tells me to stick to higher dividend stocks at this stage in life. Thanks

Q: Hello Peter & Co.
Congratulations for your equity portfolio's outstanding return in 2014; I now own 15 of your 22.
My exposure to the financial sector consists of BNS, EFN, HCG and TD and the technology sector consists of CSU, ESL, CGI, MDA and OTC.
I am seeking to add SLF to the financials, DSG to technology, DH a hybrid fin/tech; but I only have room for 2. Because I own 2 banks, I'm leaning towards DH and skip SLF.
Your opinion is most appreciated.
Thanks,
ony

Q: As a portfolio decision, I know you usually trim a position when it reaches 9-10%. However, when do you decide to add to a name when it drops from say a 5% position?
