Q: Good morning,

Could I please have your thoughts on the SPAC Longview Acquisition and its acquisition of Butterfly the handheld ultrasound co. with backing from the Gates foundation? I know you generally are not a fan of SPACS however with knowing the company being purchased does it change your view at all? Any concerns with the pending lawsuit?

Thanks as always for your guidance
Brian

Q: Do you subscribe to the theory that it is good to wait for lockup periods to pass before buying shares in a new public company? I’ve listed a few newer stocks - do you happen to have the lockup period dates for these? Any other notable ones?

Q: I keep hearing about SPACs and although I am mostly weary as; tbh, I’ve had enough success with the companies that I’ve been introduced from 5i that I don’t really see a point in taking much risk outside of your suggestions. That said, I was wondering if there are any that you find interesting and what you think of SPACs. Thank you

Q: I reviewed your recent answer to a question on Haivision and wanted to follow up. I have had some success profiting from DND on the IPO and a less pleasant experience with BBTV. I am wondering if you can dig a little deeper on Haivision to help me understand if it's more of an LSPD/DND/NVEI company in terms of opportunity vs BBTV which sounded exciting? Does Haivision have a large TAM and if so, is it a market already dominated by a few players or is Haivision a pioneer or one of the early entrants? Who do they compete against (US or Canada) and are they growing more quickly or more slowly than the competition? Lastly, if there are major competitors, does Haivision have any unique offerings that give them an advantage?

Thanks as always for your thoughtful and profitable replies!

Q: With my current shares in CSU( Thank You!), and at 1.859817814 shares in the spin out, I would receive X.96 shares. I can't find any evidence of a cash payout on the fraction. That leaves me contemplating selling one or buying six today to reduce any stranded fraction. Can you give me an idea as to where TOP ought to be trading when it comes on?
Thank You and best wishes for happy and healthy holiday.

Q: Can you enlighten me on this one: “a blank cheque company”. I have bought a few stocks over the years that made me feel like i signed a blank cheque ... but never one that actually declared itself to be a blank cheque company.

BFT hasn’t started business, no revenue, seemingly owns nothing. So what is it? Is there anything here to justify putting a bit of mad money into this non-entity?

Thanks for your help; and please add me to the long list of appreciative and happy 5i’ers wishing you and all the 5i team the best of all life has to offer now and in the years ahead. Merry Christmas 5i.

Q: Hi 5iR,
Cannabis advertising platform Weedmaps going public with $1.5 billion valuation with blank-check acquisition firm Silver Spike Acquisition Corp. I do realize that SPAC merger companies are usually future growth potential companies. What interests me here is a company that is claiming to be profitable since every year in its operation,
has grown revenue at a CAGR of 40% over the last five years and is on track to deliver $160 million in revenue and $35 million in EBITDA for 2020.
https://mjbizdaily.com/cannabis-advertising-platform-weedmaps-going-public-with-1-5-billion-valuation/.
Can you give your guidance on this. Thanks in advance.

Q: Hi 5i team,
It seems the IPO market is in a frenzy these days, with DASH and ABNB, in particular. I always enjoy reading Professor Damodaron, as per your recent blog, and his musings on ABNB. He views fair value at $36B. The IPO was priced at $68, resulting in an initial company value of $47 billion. It opened around $145, about 3 times the Professor’s view of fair value.
Some market analysts view these IPOs as a market top, a view I don’t share. I just think people are crazy to pay these prices to get a pizza delivered to your door.
Thanks again for your thoughts on this frenzy and what it means for the markets, if anything.
Dave
