Q: Hi, I am thinking about buying SLACK, set to DPO on the 20th, and I'd like to know your thoughts.
1) Do you think that the stable losses of around 140m is a concern after signicant rise in revenues over the last 2 years?
2) Is the DPO an advantage to me, or a disadvantage (versus and IPO)
3) I have no US exposure and I want some US tech exposure. Reasonable to take a full weighting in Slack?
4) Your thoughts on their growth rate? It appears they are a young company, and growth is exceptionally strong.

Q: How do companies decide on which exchange to list their company?
I see many questions on 5i specifically regarding Canadian companies listed only on the Canadian exchanges (eg. LSPD) sometimes both Canada and the US (like SHOP), or possibly only on the US market (LULU). And recently SDX going off to England, I believe.
Many of those questions relate to portfolio re-balancing thanks to PA.
So, all of this leads me to wonder what goes into deciding where to list a new company.
What would a “checklist” look like for making this decision? (Canada vs USA vs both).
As a general rule and given the size of the American market wouldn’t they be better off listing right from the get-go on the NASDAQ?
Thanks for the “lesson”.

Q: With the crazy opening for Beyond Meat BYND on this IPO what would be the maximum price you would buy at? I am thinking long term due to trends in this industry picking up steam.

Q: Hi .... There seems to be a lot of attention these days around new IPO's. One that caught our attention the other day is LUCKIN ..... China..... going up against the Gorilla known as SBUX. This is a 2 part question:
1. What are your thoughts regarding the appeal of Luckin as an IPO?
2. In order to be "allocated" shares on an IPO are there any specific guidelines or rules that apply? E.G how big an investment is required to have a chance of getting IPO shares or is this a investing/trading opportunity more limited to the BIG GUYS with deep pockets vs the average smaller retail investor.
Thanks for any insights you can provide here.

Q: I understand Pinterest starts trading on Thursday April 18. Pinterest is expected to price its IPO today. The image-sharing social media company initially said in a regulatory filing that it planned to sell 75 million shares at price range of $15 to $17 a share, valuing the company at $9 billion. The company reported $756 million in 2018 revenue in its IPO prospectus. What is view on this firm and its IPO price?

Q: Thoughts on the Levi IPO, Is ther still an upside?
Q: Hello,
Lyft and Uber will be going public soon, would you recommend purchasing shares after the IPO? Growth has been great for both companies but obviously they are losing a lot of money as they grow.
What is the general strategy for IPOs ie. Lightspeed POS? Should you typically wait for first qtr results before you buy? I considered stocks like FB, MongoDB and could have done quite well. Also I believe that employees have to hold shares for at least 6 mths (not sure of exact timeframe) before they sell so wondering if that would have an impact when insiders with a considerable number of shares are allowed to sell.
Thanks,
Neeraj

Q: What do you think of this company - just recently IPO'd. in Canada. Don't normally jump right in after an IPO - usually wait until it settles down - worked well for me on Shopify - I know these companies start trading on "potential" and not on "fundamentals" but just would like your opinion - you have given me a lot of good ideas over the years and I know that no one has a crystal ball but appreciate your expertise on smaller cap companies.
Q: Good morning. I was wanting to put lightspeed on a Watchlist to track for a while. I was reading the articles in the Financial Post and the Globe and no ticker symbol anywhere to be found. I tried the Globe's Barchart look up...nothing there. So I go to 5i to ask my question and the ticker sticker pops up automatically. Thanks for being ahead of the curve for the little guy retail investors . So when this settles down can you guesstimate a reasonable entry point and a % weighting? Thanks david
Q: Hi there,
Now that the company has IPO'd and the price looks like it's close up at around 19, would you be waiting here to enter into a position? If so, what would be a good entry point and how much of a weighting in a portfolio seems reasonable considering the risk.
Thanks!

Q: Lightspeed, what are your thoughts on $16 IPO price? Is it recommended as a buy, considering normal IPO risks? Do you know when it will start trading? Overall, what are your thoughts on prospects?
Q: Sorry, what company are we talking about? Tx.
Your thoughts on the IPO priced at $16- what is the price X sales ?
The deal is apparently oversubscribed but seems pricey ..
