Q: National Post Stock Pickers' Challenge - will you be posting your choices for the next three quarters even though the competition got cancelled.
Tks.
Q: Currently, the oil patch future in Canada is largely predicated on the availability of more pipeline transportation. In this regard, is it a safe bet to invest in ENB,TRP and, to a lesser degree, in IPL.UN ? If so, which one is more promising, and why ? In addition, do you think that approval of the Keystone pipeline is a sure bet (likely to be announced in late March) ?
Q: Hi Peter,
My Question is about ESL's recent acquisition of Locus Holdings. The shares are up over 5% since the announcement, despite the acquisition's small size relative to ESL itself. Would now be a good time to take some profits and move over to CSU or MDF?
Q: As reported in Canadian Insider, Paul Colborne bought around 127,300 shares of SGY in the last few weeks. Should I follow him, would you? I would only be buying a thousand shares or so. Thank you.
Q: Hello Peter, can I get your opinion on the likelyhood of inflation rising significantly over the next year or two? Do you have any suggestions on what to invest in during a high inflation period and any stocks that you would recommend during such a period? I am specifically looking at Bei.un, but it looks like I might have missed that opportunity. Any sectors you would recommend staying away from? TIA, Gerald
Q: I am thinking of adding a restaurant income stock for a TFSA account for a 3-5 year hold - which do you prefer? - AW.UN; BPF.UN; KEG.UN or PZA or perhaps something else?
Q: Peter, would you buy Telus or Shaw for safety of principle and increasing div. Would you please comment also on Cinaplex. These are all on a near high for the year. Are they too expensive? Ken
Q: Hi Peter and Team, can you please provide an update and out look on Magsilver, MAG. I've held it for over two years, is it worth holding onto still considering their projects? Thanks!
Q: Good day, Can you please comment on SGR (San Gold) it's recent results and why the market seems to think the news was that bad. Was it because it didn't meet its forecast? I am pretty sure it had issues this summer with equipment, but I am thinking this may be a good buy now. Any comment would be appreciated! Gerald
Q: Hi team, I have sat on the sidelines watching cash store CSF for some time now. They have paid a dividend in the past and recently the shares have taken another dive. With Canadians willingness to pile on debt, is it time to take a chance on a company that is in short term, high interest lending market. Does this stock price represent an opportunity or should an investor just stay away. Thanks
Q: Hi Peter, i am looking to take position into gold stock(currently no position in gold sector). Which company you suggest will have better upside when sector rebounds.. OSK,ANV,SMF.. my broker has sector outperformer on all of them.
