With regards to BEP.UN, it seems to be a good buying opportunity with the recent pullback. I'm wondering though, on their balance sheet they have $933 mil in current liabilities and $682 mil in current assets, giving them a current ratio below 1. Does this concern you at all? Why or why not? Thanks!
Q: Hello I am considering purchasing either Rifco or Counsel Capital. Both are up and coming companies on providing car loans and the other mortgages. Could you provide me your opinion on each of the companies and which one you would recommend.
Q: As was mentioned earlier by one member T.D.Waterhouse have informed their clients that effective Sept.15 they will be charging their clients $2 per envelope to mail monthly statements and trade confirmations. This will effectively raise their commission fees by about 50% ($2 for the stock trade and $2 for the money market sale.)Thus the cost of a trade at T.D.Waterhouse will be $9.99 +$2 +$2 = 13.99.If one agrees to receive these documents on-line there will be no additional charge.I mention this so that anyone contemplating changing to T.D.Waterhouse will be aware of the implications. If you feel this info is worthwhile feel free to publish it.Thanks again for your great service.
Q: Hi Peter & Team:
I own shares in Westaim [wed]. I notice that the top three execs have purchased 51% of the shares. There is 36 mil on the bal sheet. They are looking for a good opportunity and in the interim collect a total of 800 k a year in salaries while doing their regular jobs. What would prevent them from taking the company private at a low price per share purchase from the minority shareholders. Do you see it as foolhardy to purchase more shares.
Thanking you in advance
BEN
Q: Hi any comments from Novus ( NVS) earnings this morning? Also I see they have been granted an extension to hold their AGM until October 24, looks like a potential takeover is pending, any thoughts? Thanks.
Q: Hello 5 I
I have a question on CHH (Centric Health). When you last responded about this company in April you suggested things were improving, but you would want to see positive results continue through another qtr.
Second Qtr results appeared to be positive with increasing revenue and some restructuring of debt which is to improve cash flow by as much as $10 million annually. The market responded positively but gave back all its gains on an announcement yesterday that changes will go ahead on the OHIP funding model for publically funded pyhisotherapy.
My question is has your opinion on CHH changed? As well is the current weakness a 'headline news' reaction or will it materially affect CHH going forward?
Q: Hello Peter and the 5I team
I was curious if the average retail investor should be concerned about the CPG CEO selling 100,000 shares of CPG in the last 7 days?
