Q: AVL SEEMS TO BE ON AN UP-TICK. THEIR RECENT AGREEMENT WITH THE NW TERRITORY METIS NATION SEEMS TO BE ANOTHER POSITIVE SIGN.
AT WHAT POINT IN TIME WOULD YOU CONSIDER GIVING A SERIOUS LOOK TO INVESTING IN AVL? EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE HEADING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION FOR THEM... THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP!

Q: Do you think JDS Uniphase looks good right now? Is there a reason why they are doing an exchangeable share at the of March. I don't quite understand what that is for. To me it looks like it is acting as a prime takeover candidate.
Q: Currently I hold WIN (5%) and SYZ (12%) in a small, aggressive growth (taxable) portfolio (Majority of my funds are in other well balanced portfolios). Heeding your advice about paring down individual positions that become overweight, I need to sell some of SYZ and acquire another Growth Tech stock. What would your top 2 picks be ? Thanks again for a terrific service.
Q: Hi Team,
It's a commonly held belief that the price of gold rises as the economy deteriorates. For the past few weeks, we've been seeing upward movement in the bullion and in gold stocks but no real sign that the economy is tanking or even headed that way. Do you have any recollection of past periods where both gold and the economy grew in tandem? If so, this would make me feel a bit more secure buying miners at this point in time.
Robert

Q: Do the latest results on JE change your opinion of the company in any way, thanks.
Q: About 4 months ago, and just before becoming a 5i member, I bought 300 CPG in a TFSA, mainly for income but also a bit of growth (I'm currently under water on the stock price). Since joining 5i, I've read repeatedly that you're not keen on CPG. Would you suggest that, despite holding CPG for such a short time, I would do better to take my losses and move on to SGY, for example? The yield is even better than CPG, but does the smaller market cap make it much riskier?
Thanks for your insight. Chris

Q: I hold WEQ and I know the organic growth prospects look very good. It's market cap is small compared to HNL and BDI.
I am retired and love the WEQ dividend plus the prospect for some growth.
Is it likely that WEQ will be taken out by one of the big boys?
Thanks,
Steve

Q: Am I wrong or have the number of questions asked recently been growing substantially? If so would you ascribe this increase to a greater number of small investors getting into the market or simply to more investors using your service?
Q: Comcast (CMCSA) is trying to buy Time Warner and I think since the shares have dropped in price since the buyout deal was announced that now would be a good time to buy the shares. What do you think about Comcast and do you think now is a good time to buy shares in CMCSA?

I hold this stock in my RRSP and have done reasonably well with it, my objective for the stock is LONG TERM income and growth. Stock is down >5% this year and is my biggest loser so far this year. Should I be reconsidering my position with this stock?
Thanks

Q: Based on the last 12-15 months, I have decided to sell CPG & PKI - too much debt in I & loss of revenue in the other. Replacing for a cash acct. & want to retain dividends. Would appreciate your rankings on TMC, WEF, SGY, or other. As always, thank you.
Q: I am holding some Twin Butte(TBE)in my TFSA. I'm considering a switch to Surge Energy (SGY), looking for more growth. Both have a similar yield. Which one would you recommend and why, or would you recommend another stock in the oilpatch.
Thanks as always for your great service, Chuck

Q: My parents are getting close to drawing funds from their RRSPs and I want to start shifting their portfolios into safer equities. Can you recommend any lower volatility ETFs? Is ZLB fine or too illiquid? Thanks, Rob
