Q: I own a fairly large position in BIP.UN. It has pulled back a bit recently and I am thinking of adding to the position. What do you think of it at these levels and how will it fare re: higher interest rates. Many thanks

Q: Lightstream Resources - hold or sell? Thanks
Q: The following is a statement taken from an article written by Claudia Cattaneo in the Financial Post on Sept. 18, 2014. "Orange Capital LLC, a New York-based fund, has built a position in Calgary-based Bellatrix Exploration Ltd. It wants the midsized producer to explore strategic alternatives including a sale, look at the size and composition of its board, and a possible IPO or sale of the company’s midstream assets". What is meant by 'midstream assets'?

Q: Hi Peter, new member as of last week. Hope you're enjoying your ride for kids with cancer! My question is on CQE. The stock has been absolutely pounded since they made their disposition and again with the sector weakness of late. Would you view this company as pretty much a bet on a cold winter for the next 9 months? The valuation is cheap ~4xCF and the balance sheet issues have been addressed. Could they be a target? Thanks and keep up the great service!
Q: Why is Surge Energy, for several days now, going into the tank?
Q: RX-X Any idea why BioSyent is going up like a rocket these days? Could it fall as quickly or is there something there to sustain the rise? Appreciate your expertise.
Q: Question on your preference between ENTREC (ENT-T) and ENTERPRISE (E-T). Is there any end in sight to the slide of Enterprise's share price? Which offers more upside from current levels in your opinion?
Q: I am somewhat confused by your response to Gord as to utilities & interest rates. Are you saying that Pembina (PPL) has a relatively higher yield and little in the way of growth opportunities making it a concern when interest rates rise?
Q: Hi Team, As of writing this email, SGY (Surge Energy) has a yield of 7.9%.
Is that not to high? The share price needs to move up and we should be around a 5% div yield level which is closer to where most of the small-mid cap oil & gas dividend payers are. Could you enlighten me? Thanks,

Q: Hi,
I hold SGY but continue to be concerned about the backdrop on oil. Looks like oil is headed resistance at $86. What is your take on the mid & long term prospects for oil price & how SGY will fare in a lower oil price environment if that is what you foresee.
thx

Q: Hi Peter and Team: Hope all is well with your ride. How would you rate Surge Energy, (SGY) vs. Rock Energy, (RE), or is their another similar energy play you would rate higher.
Thanks, David

Q: re: Utilities & Interest Rates
I know we all continue to watch for any mention that it is time to raise interest rates. And it appears to me to be inevitable - just a matter of when.
It is obvious which sectors should benefit once this happens - banks, insurance, lenders - also just as obvious we can probably expect REITs to take a hit when they go up.
Can you please comment on what effect rising interest rates will have on Utilities? And which companies in particular we should have our eyes on when rates do go up?
Thanks for all you do
Gord

Q: HCG is down 10% from its recent high. Would you view this as a buying opportunity or are you concerned about the impact of rising interest rates on the housing market?
Thanks, and great service.

Q: Why is Home Capital HCG falling lately. Is it a buy, sell or hold. Thank you very much.
Q: Good evening,
Further to Russell's question on DHX and the proposed share proposal and it's negative impact on small shareholders and detrimental impact on possible buy out opportunity, what is the benefit to DHX to go down this road?
Thanks,
Eric

Q: Hi Peter,
Regarding the question on the potential DHX media share structure, is it best to put a stop loss on the stock if it is a structure that limits its upside (potential take over )? The official announcement(after earnings ) alone could bring pressure to the stock

Q: Relative to Antoine's question on sep 17 about a website to follow dividends, I use the Globe and Mail's Globe investor service and have set up a "watchlist" for my portfolio. It includes the div Yield, Div annual Per share amount and Payout Ratio among many other user selected options. It is a free service and I have been using it for many years. Cheers.
