Q: Hello 5i team,
The only media-related company I hold is BCE. I am now examining DHX Media but I'm trying to make sense of it; its ROE is a poor 3-4% but most of everybody is impressed by its library of kid shows. How does one evaluate their value; do you think that "Sesame Street" that I watched with my kids in the 80's has much value today?...In other words, how are the shows depreciated?

Q: Hello again Peter and Team. Would you be able to rate the Ten sectors as to their potential volatility within a correction or recessionary environment.I am sure that Financials would be the strongest suit, but not sure which way I would lean towards in considering the positive, or negative potential of Energy, Utilities and Industrials. I am particularly interested in where you would place Materials and Info Tech. Your thoughts please? Thanks again.

I am planning on adding a tech stock to my portfolio.

Between qcom, open text and cgi which would be your preferred stock. I am already overweight CSU in the portfolio.

The correction in qcom makes it attractive in terms of valuation, OTC had a fabulous quarter and cgi has a promising outlook.

Txs for your advise to buy SJ before release of results.It was up $1.88. In my humble opinion,Alex,CEO of AVO is a strong reason for a bigger drop of price after the latest 2 q results due to his personality & poor conference call.He did not generate cofidence & evasive @ times.He is very driven & maybe he is going to make an acquistion soon.As a copmarison,Paul Colbourne of SGY is very open & generates confidence besides his continuos buying in the market.Thanks a lot

I looked at Avigilon's results today; Sales, Gross margin, Ebitda and adjusted earnings are all up except Net earnings.
The market obviously does not like it; what is your take?

Q: Just a comment supporting your article about increasing dividends. I bought Canadian Energy Services (CEU) in 2007. Since then the dividends have grown to the point where I am currently earning at an annual rate of 48% of my original purchase price! Keep up the great work.

Can you please update your expectations for Just Energy. I have held it for some time and am obviously underwater with this one. The just released Q2 earnings sounded positive but a smaller hedge fund has reinforced it's Short stance because of the sale of the most stable part of JE's business. If I keep it, do you feel the dividend is now more secure or is it time to sell and move on?

p.s.- I have SGY so if I were to sell could you recommend a safer higher dividend yielding stock to replace JE.

What is the catalyst for growth at Questor?

Reason I ask:
-Waste gas incinerators are not new technology.
-They don't have anything to say about why their incinerators are better than the competition's other than to mention that they have patents.

Where is the competitive advantage? Better sales force? Generator integration?

I accept that demand growth / company quality might be enough for great growth in the stock but it seems like a unique product is being implied here that isn't actually. Perhaps your research or contact with management showed you more.
