Q: This is a response to Dave's question about Globeinvestor Gold. I too have been using this service for many years and was very satisfied with the Portfolio and especially the Screener. It no longer works with any level of accuracy, so I've spent some considerable time looking for alternatives. For the Portfolio management part, I've bought a three year subscription to StockMarket Eye ( I think it cost $74 cdn for three years. It can be down loaded for a free 30 day trial before buying. It is a very good Portfolio manager and allows you to report in numerous ways. I also subscribe to Finviz.com for an exceptional screener. Although it is a global screener, it handles the Canadian market info very well.(the subscription is free).

Q: Hi Peter and 5i folks,
Love this service. I especially like the questions database which I consult on a regular basis. I also the quick return on questions asked in an often rapidly changing environment overlappded with long term "sage" advice. And I also think the new rules on question limits to be most fair.
It is now 2015 and it is time to add to my TSFA account. I am growth oriented now but will rotate to income in about 5-7 years. I am wondering if you could recommend 3-4 equities that have been over-punished (providing a good entry point) with the recent market pull back.
Pats on the back for a unique and valuable service !

Q: i constantly read about a 20yr recession about to happen due to the debt of the usa federal government or is this just fear mongering. thanku
Q: FCX, with a P/E of 10.8 and a dividend of 5.55% seems an obvious buy (all else remaining equal) though despite a relatively high payout ratio (84%). Would this be your favoured blue chip in this sector?
Q: hi and thanks: If a person wanted to gamble on a rising US dollar going forward, what ETF's might one put their money in?

Q: What do you make of Cipher's recent aquisition of Canadian commercialization rights of Ozenoxacin for treatment of impetigo? Is it normal to buy the licensing rights to a drug that is still in clinical trials? Assuming the drug works and goes through regulatory hurtles, is the market big enough in Canada to have a material impact on earnings or is this just another secondary product? My worry is that Cipher is too reliant on its leading acne drug, but I guess this is a step in the right direction. Thanks.
Q: I've been searching for relatively cheap canadian pharma stocks that have postive cashflow and earnings growth. I recently came across CRH Medical, a recent recommendation of J.Donville. After accounting for the recent aquisition (trailing earning, some dilution, and debt), to me, it still appears quite cheap relative to the sector. I realize there is some execution risk, and now a fair bit of debt, but it seems reasonable. How do you assess this company and compare it to other small/growthy names in the sector? I currently have a half position in CRH and I am thinking about doubling down. I also own PHM and CPH in the sector but they don't look as cheap anymore. Thanks.
Q: Peter and team,
Can I get your view on EIL please?
Thanks in advance.

Q: TMX Group has been on a steady decline since June. This pretty much is the same timing as the drop in oil prices. Are the two correlated or is the X drop due to other factors such as a reduction in IPOs etc? Do you think it is currently at an attractive entry point for a long term income portfolio (a little bit of growth would be nice too of course). Many thanks
Q: Peter and company,
Badger Daylighting went down today to $23.44. Is this still a company you would recommend? Thanks in advance.

Q: Hello team,
Do you have any comments on today's news wire release on the execution of a letter of intent to acquire a regional business. This is the first time I have heard of this term...it is non-binding and the subject company's financials are unaudited - and yet is sounds like a done deal. Also the news wire release is not for distribution in the U.S. as per the preamble. Should this have an impact on the stock price at present? Thanks

Any idea why Trimac does not seem to be benefitting from the price of oil? Do you prefer Transforce over Trimac?
