Q: On March 31, 2014 the B.E. Model Portfolio was rebalanced back to 5% weightings for all holdings, something that didn't occur at the annual review in 2015. Is there a new philosophy to let winners like CSU and ESL run and laggards lag or will this issue be addressed during April when the $10,000 cash is deployed (a 5.4% weight that could go to a new name)?

Q: Hi Peter,
I hold shares of Tidewater which continue to slide. Is there long term concern other than the price of oil. I am happy to hold and maybe add if they are not at risk of bankruptcy and it's expected it will come back when the price starts to rise. Appreciate any comments or advice. thank you. Tulio

Q: I know it is unrealistic to always pick winners in the stock market, but what should the typical win/loss ratio be? I'm assuming it should be better than 50/50, but can you give an idea of what a good investor should aim for? It's always painful to see losers (for me, SGY, TCW, CPH, FM, SYZ) and sometimes I feel reluctant to sell and cut my losses because I think they might turn around and improve my win/loss ratio. Thank you for your great service. I will be opting for the 2 year membership renewal this month!
Q: In regards to the double-down strategy....what 3 stocks are the best candidates at the present time. I use it in addition to the portfolio approach and do have the appropriate risk tolerance for double down....thanks
Q: A BNN guest recently recommended this stock. It is new to me. Any thoughts?
Q: Hi, I've been watching RX since it was about 11 dollars, hoping for an opportunity to get in. It has recently taken quite a dive to 8 dollars and looks like it might go down further. Has something changed with the company or would this be a good time to buy?
SYZ is doing the same thing. Is this a good time to get in or will it drop further?
Thanks!

Q: Hi,
I came across the U.S company Sanderson Farms in a recent issue of Moneysense. I am thinking of taking a small position in it (About 1% of my portfolio). The valuation on it seems very cheap, and the company seems to be profitable and cash flow positive. What are the main risks with this name (Leaving aside currency risk). Do you agree that the valuation (P/E) is very cheap. If so, why is that?

Q: Good Morning
I have a 3% holding in WEF as my only forestry stock. The few major holdings I have are limited to about 3%. With the recent significant decline in the price of this stock would you advise an increase of 1% or so, or choose another investment?
Enjoy your weekend.

Q: I hold First Service Corp (FSV) in a registered account and it has grown to a full (5%) position in my total portfolio. I anticipate reducing my holding post company split. The stock price continues to march higher. At this time do you think it is under valued, fully valued or overvalued based on the anticipated results of the successor companies over the next 12 months? Which of the two successor companies do you prefer, Colliers or the (new) First Service Corp going forward and why?
Thanks, Tim.
Thanks, Tim.
Q: Could I please have your comments on this fund. I currently own IPL and am considering this fund as a means of adding other infrastructure plays.

Q: May i have your opinion on Chesapeake Energy.Have noticed good insider buying latley.
Q: I would like to sell GH as a tax loss. I held the stock primarily for income. Could you suggest a few 5i covered stocks that I could use to replace the income with some possibility of capital appreciation and/or divvy growth as a bonus. Thank You Ron
Q: ENF announced they received the formal proposal from Enbridge regarding the liquids business transfer on March 31. No details on the transfer were announced. Investors have been waiting for and expecting this, however, there seemed to be quite strong selling pressure and volumes today. Also, ENF has pulled back around 20% from its high in early February.
I'm just wondering if this pullback is:
- investor concerns regarding the required share issuance
- the stock overshot on its run-up to February
- unfavourable details on the 'proposal' from Enbridge have leaked out
- just the vagaries of the market
Your thoughts on the above and would you continue to hold for income? Thanks.

Q: I just finished reviewing the growth portfolio and I thought it was curious that there is no junior gold miner in the list. I can think of a couple like Teranga Gold or Lakeshore and I am sure that there are many more that have actual mines running and are low cost producers. If gold ever sees a substantive increase, many of these producing juniors should also move. Historically many investors have done very well by going into out of favour sectors.
Q: I have been holding BIP.UN and not BEP.UN. What are the differences between the two? Which is the better one?
