Q: Hi All,

In the recent market turmoil I slimmed down on a number of my holdings. As a result I have some cash to deploy.

Currently I have all of your 3 portfolio positions (50 bal/ 30 inc/ 20 Gr).

I would like to beef up these holdings with the cash avaialbale.

Could you please tell me which five stocks in each of your 3 portfolios (total of 15) you would suggest I purchase at this juncture.

Q: In a recent blog Danielle Park is suggesting that the Canadian banks may correct as much as 55% from their 52 week high. Do you think that a correction of this magnitude is probable given the present environment? I was hoping to buy TD at $47 which is about a 20% discount off its high. I would like to hear your thoughts. Thank you.

Q: Transcontinental Corp announced this week they entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Ultra Flex Packaging Corp which the company says doubles their packaging revenues and builds on their strategy to ensure their future growth path through diversification. The dividend is 4%. What is your overview of this acquisition and would you consider it a good time to buy the stock. Thanks

Q: In this low interest environment where many investors are searching for yield, why is Riocan and generally all the reits going down.

Q: I just returned home from visiting my grandchildren, and my little grandson "con" me into visiting "Gamestop". His real mission was to get version 3 of starwars for video game, and upon leaving I left $70.00 US poorer for the game. Upon returning home I have seen major advertising of all star war games and products by Disney on all major television stations no doubt pushing the Christmas theme.
My question is "would I be too late for the toy game as there appears to be great margins in these products and children really do wish to have latest version of all products"
Could I have your opinion of my thinking, and if you like it what names would you recommend. I was thinking of Hasboro and Mattel.

Q: I hold almost all of the stocks in the 5i Model Portfolio, 10 stocks in the Growth Portfolio and 7 stocks in the Income Portfolio. I also have VUN for some US companies.
I believe I could add some international exposure and I have no bonds.
What would you suggest for an international ETF and bonds? Is this a good time to purchase bonds?
This would be a long term hold, about 10 years in my LIRA account.

Q: Hi 5i team,
I have applied the theory of letting the winners run in the BOS case since the late 1990's with great success. I can appreciate their journey from a very small cap to today, the stability of management, the limited share issuance, the dividend introduction and growth, the managed balance sheet, etc. as discussed in our question and answer of December 22nd, 2014.
I have two issues: the new level of their forward P/E and the weight in my portfolio. I am more used to a forward P/E multiple between 10x and 12x versus 25x (assumption of eps = 0,96 over the next 12 months). Is the 2015 version of BOS worth a P/E multiple twice as high as a few years ago? Even if this is the case, I now see less upside than in the past.
I used to see BOS as a solid/under-the-radar eps growth story with great multiple expansion potential. Now, BOS a grown up, and I see BOS as a solid eps growth story only, a state that could last for several years. I feel that BOS's role in my portfolio has changed a little bit. I feel I need to use some of this capital to prepare for the next growth phase of my portfolio.
For the second time over the last 15 or so years, I am tempted to sell a portion of my BOS's shares to decrease current weighting now reaching the mid-teens. No tax consideration, as the shares are in my RRSP. My alternative uses for this capital would be: decrease my leverage (exchange in kind with my cash account), increase dry powder, and some cherry picking buying of companies on discount sale (CXI, DHX.B, GUD, ?) which currently share some of the return upside BOS use to have (eps growth, and potential multiple expansion). Do you agree with this plan? Any other suggestions?
