Q: Hi Peter,
I'm down 14% with HNL. This is my first significant negative holding of 5i recommendations and I don't know what to do (HNL is 10% of my portfolio). Should I sell or hold?

Q: Mr. Hodson,kindly consider the following. Any long time investor usually receives all kinds of offers by email. One I just received comes from Paul Tracy, Chief Strategist,StreetAuthority's Top 10 Stocks, Co-Founder, StreetAuthority. After listening, patiently, to a lengthy voice presentation, the offer is available (but only when on the verge of quitting) as a 22-page document. It looks pretty convincing and boasts its Top 10 Stocks annual list trounced the overall market 7 out of 9 years up to 2011 (2012 results haven't been finalized yet). The offer is for a subscription at 99$ per year to a bunch of publications, with a special introductory price of 39.95$ per year, with the possibility of cancelling the subscription before the 30 days is up (and keeping the reports sent, free of charge). Is this, in your view, analogous to a scam or at least all glitter and no substance ? I just read your article this morning in the Financial Post (Old lessons still ring true), and while this is not comparable, your message about being cautious is not lost on me.

Q: Peter,

What do you think will happen in the WND takeover story? BEP.UN has asked investors to vote for their 2.50 bid and the share price is hovering at 2.80. I have quite a lot of shares at the current market price. Is is safe to bet their would at least be a bid of 3 or more or should I trim down my holdings and buy something else.

Also, I got some good takeovers in June and July but as always I lost a lot my money on some gold and similar stocks in the Aug-Dec period and I am wondering what should I do going forward with a much smaller cash balance currently invested in PKI, BTE and CPG Options. Thanks for the advise.

Q: Good Afternoon Peter and Team,
My question is regarding Edleun Group Inc. (EDU-V). I have owned this stock for over a year with much much less than stellar results. Vision Capital Corp along with its Chairman (Frank Mayer) and CEO (Jeffrey Olin) own about 15% of the outstanding common shares. I know that you do not cover this company but what is your gut feeling with regard to a Joe Average like me continuing to hold this stock for eventual capital appreciation? Have you ever met Mr. Mayer or Mr. Olin or have you done any business with either of these gentlemen? I very much value your opinion. Thank you. DL

Q: Hi Peter and team I have been looking at Calian Technologies (CTY). Over the past 10 years It has steadily increased its dividend and showed a rather small fluctuation in the 2008-2009 market crash.No debt and quite a bit of cash but no publicity. What do you think of this one. Thanks

Q: peter, could you or the person asking the question put in the name as well as the call letters when asking a question? Not everyone knows the call letters to every stock and it is much easier not to have to look it up. Thanks Ken
