Q: re Chesapeake Energy Corp. CHK + takeover

Have just read an article spouting rumors (unconfirmed) that Exxon after buying XTO Energy in 2010 for the purpose of penetrating the shale gas market, is poised to become a leader in the market by acquiring CHK. I own Exxon for the long haul and was wondering;

1) what CHK looks like long term as an investment should the rumor not come to fruition?
2) how a merger if it did happen would effect both XOM & CHK?
3) any comments you have on the Shale Gas Market in general?

Q: Hello,
This year LGF has mostly traded below it's 200 Day Moving average, would that be considered a definite sell signal?

Q: USG Corp (USG)

Been doing my regular research this morning and have noticed Birskshire Hathaway just purchased over 24 million shares (almost 1% of the total portfolio position) in USG.

Does Mr. Buffet & Company know something we don't? (actually there is lots he knows that we don't)

Note... there has been a 14% correction for the stock over the last 30 days.

With my online account, my paid financial subscription and Globe Investor, I do not find out near the information I receive from you. I have a small US dollar account so could you supply me your take of which of these companies would be the best for growth or if you have a better one to suggest. ORAN, LEE, HCLP, ATVI and NCR. Q: These are two US companies. It seems to me that the US market is doing better so I seem to buy more of their securities. ARWR is a stock I hold and dropped 13% on Friday. Please give me an opinion. AKS is another one. Looks like it is doing good. Please give me an opinion. I am thinking of buying it. On the Canadian side, I noticed on Mar. 20th BYD.B dropped to 32.5. The next day, it was up over 37. What created that drastic swing? Thank you. Your opinion is greatly appreciated.

Q: I like Ryan Modesto's recommendation to invest in tobacco companies as a play on medical marijuana. Any in particular? Spread it out over PM, RAI, MO, LO? Others? Maybe the individual investor can build a small "etf" by adding one or two risky companies? Recent inheritances put $100k U.S. in the bank, and I could reasonably dedicate it to this sector, even though I don't need the income from the tobacco dividends. Thank you.
