Peter, although this may a bit beyond the mandate of 5i Research, I am very interested in 3-D printing investments. However, as it is an emerging technology with no clear winners yet, I am building a basket of 3-D printing stocks to cover all the bases and ensure that I hold the ultimate leaders in the sector. I currently hold:
3-D development, production and sales companies - 3-D Systems, Stratasys and ExOne
3-D measurement and imaging company - FARO Technologies
3-D prototype and mold production and sales company - Proto Labs
Robotics and automation - ROBO STOX ETF
I am very interested in information from 5i staff or members about any promising, emerging 3-D printing related companies that might be candidates to become viable players in this sector.
I do understand that my question may be far beyond the scope of this forum and that it may not receive any answers.

Q: SVC
Is SVC making similar products and competing with ALLT and PKT, if so how do you think about SVC competitiveness against them. SVC seem to be more expensive than ALLT and PKT.

Q: I'm looking at purchasing MCR, SYZ or AYA for a RDSP account (earnings are tax free). Can you please rank (low to high) the risk for each company, and also rank (low to high) the growth potential over the medium term. Also, which one would you recommend?

I own a significant position in Potash which has had a nice rally lately. First any reason that you are aware of for this rally? Secondly I'm considering trimming back some POT and adding to my position in Avigilon (AVO). I think I know the answer but comparing the growth rates of both these companies I would conclude that AVO share price should greatly outperform POT over the next 3 years?? Thank-you.

I have been continuing to work towards diversification and emulating the 5i philosophy. I am thinking I could use another techology-type/growth type name. I currently have approximately a 4.0% position in Amaya Gaming AYA and have been thinking about adding to it.

However, I've also been looking at Constellation Software and read the report (am I correct that the last report was Oct. 2012?) and like it but am curious if I want to put new money to work in this name with the incredible performance its had. I was thinking of a 5.0% weighting. If not in this name, would I be better off in something like DHX Media?

Your thoughts are appreciated.

Q: Hi, I know you're not big on short term trading - however, some technical analysts suggest that tech stocks peak around the time of the technology show in Vegas, which is now. With that in mind what are your thoughts on Constellation (CSU) and Amaya (AYA) in Canada and Apple (AAPL) and Electronics for Imaging (EFII) in the US?

Long time (close to original?) subscriber, just renewed for two more years. Thank you for providing the subscriber discount - it again shows your ethics and the fairness with which you treat your subscribers (which is in addition to the great info you provide).
Anyway, enough of the accolades.
Sylogist (a member of your portfolio) has been pretty much sideways since August. Technically, (sorry, I'm a bit of a chartist - I know you aren't) it has fallen below its 20 and 50 day moving averages and is showing significant negative divergences on both MACD and RSI. (Not good technical signs). While I appreciate you may be "comfortable" with the stock here, my question is what do you see as being necessary to move this stock upward and what might be the chances of that happening.
Though I ask very few questions, I really appreciate your responses.

Q: I am running out if gas with sylogist, i have owned it since the 3.35 range ,made a ton of money, but the last 3 months have been a big zero with syz. There are so many great companies out there, so my question where do you rate sylogist today on a scale of 1 to 10 for agressive growth. I am not looking for stability.dave

Q: Hi Peter and 5i Team,I know that you like companies that start a dividend policy. AXX (Axia Net Media) is starting a dividend at the end of January. Can you please give me your additional comments wrt AXX

Q: Axia was expected to initiate a special dividend due to the excess cash on the balance sheet associated with the sale of some non-core assets, instead the company has initiated a "small" quarterly dividend and they have renewed their share buy back in December. You've previously said you view the initiation of a dividend as very positive. I believe they are trying to signal their long term intentions to the market and based on their cash position and their projected income levels they have ample room to grow the dividend over time. What are you thoughts about this move by Axia? Do you think this is the right move as opposed to initiating a special dividend? Are they being too conservative with returning capital?
