Q: Hi, if someone beat me to it just ignore this, but I'm sure everyone is curious on your take on CSU quarterly earnings. At first glance they look good to me but I'm not sure how they compare to the "consensus" numbers. But if they are now at $2.50/share in earnings per quarter, isn't that now just a PE of 20 annualized?

Q: WIN announced pretty good earnings this AM in addition to some good announcements in the quarter and a change to the legal expense risk sharing model. At this price seems to be good value even if they don't sell the company in the short term. Thoughts?

Q: Hi Peter! How do you explain Sphere 3D(ANY) today plunging - 8.8%, with the Pinetree rather positive announcement:
"Pinetree Capital Ltd. (TSX:PNP), announces that through a series of transactions that ending on April 25, 2014, it acquired ownership of 175,500 common shares ("Common Shares") of Sphere 3D Corporation ("Sphere") representing approximately 0.08% of the total issued and outstanding common shares of Sphere as of April 25, 2014. As a result of this transaction, Pinetree and its joint actors collectively held, as at April 25, 2014, an aggregate of 2,551,000 common shares of Sphere, including the Common Shares, and rights to acquire an additional 300,000 common shares of Sphere upon exercise of certain convertible securities (the "Convertible Securities"). Of these totals, Pinetree owns 1,581,000 common shares, including the Common Shares, and 250,000 of the Convertible Securities directly (the "Pinetree Convertible Securities"). In the event that the Convertible Securities are fully exercised, the holdings of Pinetree and its joint actors represents a total of 2,851,100 common shares of Sphere, or approximately 12.1% of all issued and outstanding common shares as at April 25, 2014, calculated on a partially diluted basis assuming the exercise of the Convertible Securities only."

Thank you.

Q: Could I have your analysis and take on PTK.T, POET Technologies Inc: Developing planar opto electronic technology (POET), a gallium arsenide semiconductor fabrication process for commercial and military applications.
The stock has been on a wild ride of late with what looks to be a disruptive technology in favor of POET. Thanks!

Q: Hi,

I'm looking at adding a large technology Company to my RRSP. I currently own Enghouse and I'm looking at adding either Open Text (OTC) or Constellation Software (CSU)? Any preference?

Also, Open Text is making an announcement tomorrow with the premier of Ontario. I assume its something related to additional investments in Ontario. What are your thoughts?

Thanks again,
Jason

Q: Hello Peter and team
In your new Growth Portfolio, your weighting appears to me to be 25% Technology, only 5% Energy and 15% Basic Materials. I am weighted 11.5% Technology with CSU,ESL, MDA, and SYZ. 16% energy with VET, PEY,and BDI. VET and BAD are over just over 8% because of gains and split. My Basic Materials weight is 9% with G and RUS. Should I be reducing Energy to increase Basic Materials and Technology? My other weightings seem in line.
Would appreciate your comments. Regards Kathy

Q: SUM

Feb 14 5i suggested if it could get back to $6.75, it would be a buy.

April 2 (@ $6.72) 5i suggested wait until 2nd week April.

Today, had a slight uptick after being fairly level since beginning of the month. Should I still wait to jump in for another week or so?

thanks for all you do

Gord

Q: SW... Sierra Wireless

For 5i & Family... with a question at the end...

SW has had very good "recent" financial Performance and 2014 Q1 will be reported May 1. Cisco believes the M2M market will be worth (get this) $19 Trillion by 2020. SW has made some very good acquisitions as of late and last reported EBITDA grew 48% to $18+ mm.

They have developed a number of new (and unique) products including AirVantage which is a cloud service enabling OEM's to run their applications directly on the module reducing overall time and cost significantly. And they have released the world's first 4G embedded module designed specifically for the automotive industry. In addition, they have recently introduced ES440 designed specifically for Branch Office Continuity.

Balance sheet looks strong with lots of cash, $18 mm in operating cash flow and stock is reported as relatively cheap at a trailing P/E of less than 12 despite a stock increase of 90% in the past year.

As I reported earlier this year, I went by and visited the Head Office and saw a very busy environment with people running all over the place, and lots of suppliers/customers in the lobby. SW has significant Blue Chip customers and has landed many new customer design wins.

I am wondering why I shouldn't be investing a 5% position is SW? Is this all too good to be true? Am I dreaming if I think I am looking at a $100 stock in 2 years or less?

Really look forward to hearing your thoughts

Thanks Peter & Company

Gord
