I'm looking to add an energy stock to my TFSA holdings (which currently include AYA, ENB, BNS, T, and STN). I've seen you recommend BAD, SGY, and TOU and have also been seeing various articles suggesting SU might be a good purchase given that it's relatively inexpensive at the moment.

Do you have a preference between any of these four?

Q: I have started new positions in Vrx and Pfe with their recent pullbacks as I do not have any healthcare. I would like to build up to a 5% position in each stock. Would you consider this prudent at this time?

Q: Hello hello...This question has been asked in the past. But at this point in time, what are the growth-eee stocks you would suggest for at new TSFA, with $30,500. From a length of time to hold, I'm interest in letting the stocks do there thing. And about other stocks that are held in other accounts, this is not a factor for diversification purposes. Q: Greetings: My question is concerning 3 stocks: Element EFN, Fiera FSZ, and Tricon TCN. I have owned these stocks for over a year, and they have done almost nothing. I bought them because I understood them to be "growth names." But in retrospect, which I know is always clear, I would have seen more growth in non-growth names: BNS or HCG, or even KBL or WPK!. Also, I note that you say the following about Element: "We think it is a stock that needs to be given five years. We think the company, despite all of its recent activity, is only getting started."
OK, here's my question, I know, finally. My opportunity cost has been huge on these names. Should I just be patient (hopefully not for another 5 years) or exit now, after which I know all three will immediately shoot up, and then enter when they have "matured" a bit. I had expected steady growth. Or should I simply hang on and change my expectations. With new money I am buying names like First Service and Auto Canada and Boyd and seeing way more growth.

Q: I am looking at 5 stocks with the objective of buying 2 or 3 of them in my TFSA (which is doing well thanks to you). The 5 are SPB, SGY, TOU, RRX and IPL. Only SGY and IPL have net buy insider trading. TOU and RRX have large net selling.
How important are these insider trading numbers and can you recommend 2 or 3 of these?

Q: I have held PKI (Parkland) for some years now and am interested in your thoughts on holding the stock for at least another year. Also thoughts you might have on FRU (Freehold Royalties) on holding for another year and ditto for BCE (Bell Canada).

Q: WEF. Western Forest Products is off its highs close to 30% now. The RSI suggests it is oversold.
Would you agree? And would this be a reasonable time to add to my existing position in this stock?
I am still up nicely over the last year and have been looking for an opportunity to add.

On the other hand do you think some of the "steam" is out of the forestry sector?

Q: What are your thoughts on CCO Cameco and their large decline

Q: Need your detailed analysis with this one. Looking at the latest quarterly earnings from SNC-Lavalin, most of their net income comes from what they call their ICI or Infrastructure Concessions Investments which consist of the recently sold Altalink and 407ETR (to name two.)

The former management took a strategy to diversify SNC income precisely to ensure a more predictable income quarter to quarter rather than the more risky and fickle revenue that comes from the Engineering and Construction side of the business. So, while they have a new strategy and now 3 billion more dollars, my concern is that their dividend from quarter to quarter is in jeopardy.

It's safe to say that the SNC-Lavalin of 2012 is not the same company as SNC of today anymore, so how secure and safe is it's dividend with this massive change in strategy?

Speaking of The Best Investment - if you had to buy just 1 name for 5-10 year hold (I am 62 years old) which name would it be.
