Q: I was hoping to have your views on this company. The cash value seems to be reasonable and sales all over the board. I am having difficulties coming up with a accurate book vale minus the cash portion. I also note that the company just announced Sandvine Officer Cancels, Initiates Automatic Securities Disposition Plans. Mr. Siim's ASDP provides for the sale of up to 625,000 common shares of Sandvine from the date hereof until April 14, 2017, subject to certain limit order prices and volumes. Does this stand out as a major red flag??? Thank you Jason

Q: hello 5i:
please give me your two best companies, in the Industrial sector. I'm looking for something with a dividend of >2.5% (but realize I might have to settle for less), with a stable and growing cash flow, trading at or below its long term value metrics (P/B, P/S, P/CF, D/E etc). The companies should have a dividend history of at least 5 years, though longer is better. I'd prefer to keep it to a Canadian company, though it seems a large percentage of US Industrials are trading at low valuations, so would at least be open to one for a suggestion. I know these are fairly tough criteria after a bull market run that approaches 7 years. can you help?

Q: Hello: I have this stock left over from my days with a financial advisor. Bought at $16.00, today it's $18.88, so while the price is declining, I'm still not yet in a loss position. Having read the previous posts, is it best to just sell and get out? What I really want is long-term hold dividend growth stocks. Can you suggest a few that are not banks/financial, telco or utilities (which I own enough of)? Thank you.
Q: I am 65 years old and this is what I have in my RRSP(my income account). Everything except Win (has 2%) has about 1 full position (5%). I have about 50k still to invest. What would you do with it, and what do you think of the present allocation?
TRP,Tog,RY,NA,LIQ,FTS,CVE,CWB,BNS,ALA,G,BEP.UN,EMA,TMA,and T. Short of the market totally collapsing, I am ok with market gyrations.
Thanking you in Advance
John

Q: Hi Team , I have 10k that I want to invest in a TFSA account, I wont need these funds for 5-10 years, Im thinking of 3 options , invest in your equity model portfolio picking appox 10 stocks with a 10 % weighing, # 2 invest only in ETFS , or # 3 split the 10 k between the 5 banks , BMO, BNS, TD , RBC and NA... does any of these options look good to you? .....or do you recommend an option 4 ???
For option 1 can you recommend some of the stocks to pick ? and also for option 2 can you recommend some ETFS to pick ?
Thanks

Q: Dear 5i
I came across this comment from Otterwood Capital Management today:
"The fundamental event which could initiate a dollar selloff would be an announcement from the International Monetary Fund to include the Chinese Yuan in the SDR basket (see my post here for more details). The last decision was made on November 15th, 2010 so we should expect similar timing for this year’s decision. If included, roughly $1 trillion of global reserves will move into Yuan, largely out of US dollars. The decision would be positive for Chinese risk assets and by default, negative for the US dollar.
The US dollar is at a crossroads and the ongoing consolidation is running out of time. One way or another it will break out of the range and an unanticipated US dollar selloff would lead to significant repositioning and volatility."
This is the second time I have heard about this in a week. I just wanted to get your opinion on this scenario and what, if anything, you would recommend doing (i.e. would this be a good time to sell some US stocks?).
Thanks for your great service.

Q: Hello Peter & 5i team,
I gather from the various 5i reports and the Q's & A's that my Equity holdings are quite decent; but I'm not sure about the sector weights and would like to have your opinion on the split.
Consumer (21.3%) ATD,BYD,CCL,CGX,DOL,LNR,MG
Energy (6.1%) TOU,VET,WCP
Energy Infra (5.1%) ENB,KEY
Financials (12.0%) BNS,CXI,EFN,SLF,TD
Health/Pharma (7.7%) CRH,CXR,GUD,PHM,RX,VRX
Ind/Infra/Transp (8.7%)
Material (5.2%) CHE,SJ
Tech (22.0%) CSU,DSG,ESL,GIB,MDA,OTC
RE/Telco/Util (11.8) BCE,BEP,CIG,FSV,TCN
By the way, these holdings' (Oct 16, 2015) ytd total return is 11.8% with a beta of 0.5. Even though I got hammered in the Health sector, I made up for it in the Consumer, Tech and RE
Thanks,
Antoine
