Q: HCG has had quite a move recently. On BNN this morning, they said they thought this was a short covering rally. I think the fundamentals of HCG are excellent and by putting this company into greater focus, the shorts may have inadvertently sparked investors to have a closer look at HCG. I know you like HCG as well. Would you be trimming a little here? Do you know how many shares are still short?

Thanks

Q: Team,

I am looking to add a financial position to my wife's small, slowly growing, portfolio of mostly 5i recomendations (Magna, Cineplex, Amaya and Apple). I would classify her as a cautious medium term (2-3 years) investor.

In light of the Fed's decision yesterday (low rates in forseeable future but indicative of poorer US economy), would you be more or less bullish on US Financials vs. Canadian? How would you rank the following companies 5 that we have shortlisted to purchase? Thanks!!!!

TD
BNS
HCG
JPM
BOA

PS - I cant say it enough, I absolutely love this service and the value I know I'm getting!

Q: I'm looking at investing in a Mortgage Investment Corporation. The returns look favourable. This would be for income only. Or should I be looking at a Real Estate REIT. Have you ever considered doing a report on any of the many Corporations out there ? Thanks

Q: Hi Peter, Just wondering if you knew anything regarding the reason behind the 10%+ jump in EQI in the past week or so. Given where they plan to go in the next few years in terms of their growth, how do view the current valuation, and if I may ask one more, do you still think an acquisition is possible in the next 6-12 months? Thanks always!

Q: I have heard on BNN various commentators say that if interest rates rise, it is better to be in insurance companies than banks. I would appreciate your thoughts on this. thanks.

Q: Hi Peter:

I have owned shares of National Bank for about 2 years, it pays a 4% nice dividend and the stock is slowly edging up near a 52 week high, knowing that Sept and Oct months are usually not kind to the stock market, I wonder if selling half of the position and re-investing it when the market corrected would be a good move ? Thanks

Q: Good morning. I am thinking of adding to my financial holdings and have read your recent comments on BNS, TD, FSZ, SLF, GWO, and MFC all of which I hold for a 10% financial weighting. I'm thinking of adding to MFC to bring it's weighting up to SLF and GWO and total of 12% for the group. MFC is improving and 5i seems to be warming up to it. I think MFC may be getting close to rebuilding it's dividend as well.
I would appreciate your opinion on this purchase as well as the weightings overall.
Once again, many thanks for your input.

Bank of America is being taken off the Dow; would you please give me your opinion of what might happen to the stock price. Should I hang on or take my gain and move along?
Many thanks, a day doesn't go by without my reading your questions/answers etc. Your service has been a tremendous help.
