Q: I read your updated report on HCG and agree that this is a great company. However, the NIM, EPS growth and ROE have all been declining as the yield curve has become more flat and competition for mortgage business has increased. Do you see this as a short term issue or more or a longer term problem?

Thanks,
Hans

Q: Good Afternoon,
I will be making my annual RRSP contribution in the next week or so and based on your research and all the Q & A here I have narrowed it down to 2 stocks, CXI or DHX.b. I was leaning toward CXI but it has taken a huge run in the last week or so now not so sure. This is for the very long term, which one of the two do you feel has the most upside. Thank-you

Q: Please comment on the quarterly results released today. I hold a 2% position, and am considering adding to this sector. Would Goldcorp remain your first choice?

Q: Hello

This is a follow question on a Q&A I read about Glentel.

Basically you suggest to the Gentel shareholder to 'TENDER' their shares as otherwise there may be some delay.

My Question may seem silly, but how do I go about Tendering shares, when shares are held through a broker? I emailed my broker and they where not informative on how to do that.

Thank you.

Original Q&A I saw is cut and paste below.

Question: I talked to I trade where are GLENTEL shares are held and was told that you can no longer choose the option of cash or shares in BCE. If you wanted to do so you had to say so three days before the shareholders meeting earlier in January. Most people would obviously choose the shares with BCE hitting new highs. Is it still possible to get shares in BCE? THANKS

5i Research Answer:
In most cases, if you have missed the deadline, then you will by default get the pro rata allocation that everyone else gets: i.e. some BCE shares and some cash. You do need to tender your shares, otherwise there may be some delay. You will then need to buy BCE shares with the cash received if you want to swap all of the value of GLN into BCE.

Q: Hello: My TFSA value is $64,274. This includes $5,638 in cash that I need to invest. My objective is growth. My holdings:

AYA $9,370 (14.6% of TFSA)

XTC $7,424 (11.5%)

DHX.B $9,530 (14.8%)

CSU $32,312 (50%)

Thanks to 5i these stocks have done very well. The TFSA is about 8% of my total investment portfolio. Can you comment on the health of this mix? What stock(s) do you recommend I add with the cash?

Q: 5i
I have a half position in GC but just cannot decide on whether to ad to this one or start buying into aya . Aya has been doing much better while GC has lost some ground .
Also I'm thinking of getting back into acq since it has had much better momentum of late and forward earnings look quite solid plus it's well down still from its high .
I would greatly appreciate your advice on these stocks .
Thanks
Bill C.

Q: In their Fiscal 2014 report, the management "expected meaningful growth in fiscal 2015" and held cash per share $1.65. Given the large portion of business that comes from Western Canada what would you expect in terms of growth for 2015? Also in your October report you noted insider selling. Does this selling affect your otherwise positive opinion of management? Has that selling subsided? Would you be comfortable buying a small position here?
Sorry for the multiple questions.
Many thanks
Mike

Q: Hello great team. Amaya is in a strong bullish trend in all time frames according to BMO. I am holding 6.9% within my Portfolios along with most of your other PF choices (both PFs). My question is; should I ride this a bit longer? AYA was a bit stuck for a while but is rising nicely again as I am sure you know. Any news? Thank you for all you do. I am doing well with your Q and A's and best of all "makin moola"!

Q: I have done surprisingly well with my two pizza holdings... both are decent for income too . You recommended bpf.un .
Do I really need 2 pizza shops ? ... Would you advise that I drop one ?
If so , which should I keep ?
Or should I keep both ? ... or should I cash out completely ?
Is there a seasonal aspect to Discretionary-Restaurant ? I own A&W as well.

Q: Hi Peter & team

Have learned to take most of the guests comments on Market Call/Tonight with a grain of salt often thinking conflicts and ulterior motives may be in play which, by the way is what makes 5i so valuable to all of us.

Having said that, Colin Stewart who I have grown to appreciate has provided some very accurate commentary in the past had some very positive comments re RPI today.

So I took a look at some of the metrics in play... Debt/Equity ratio 0.59, Price/Cash Flow 9.38, Price/Book 1.92 and Book Value/share is at 6.81.

There doesn't appear to be a ton of debt, the dividend is excellent, and as Colin said, this is a fairly recessionary proof business that generates good cash flow.

I am surprised there are not many questions on this company in the 5i forum... especially looking at it's recent performance - up almost 10% today.

What is you opinion? Why no interest from the membership? And would you consider RPI a sell/hold/or buy at this time?

Thanks for all you do

Gord
