Q: I am down about 20% on CPD which I bought primarily to stabilize my diversified portfolio. It comprises about 3.5% of my portfolio so it has not been a particularly good stabilizer. I understand how the rate reset preferred shares held in the ETF have depressed its value, but I find it hard to predict what is likely to happen over the next few years. Any predictions? I have been thinking of slowly reducing the amount that I hold and switching into a bond ETF (though even CBO and HFR have been slowly declining). Your sage advice would be appreciated.

Q: I am looking for some income products to diversify my portfolio. Royal Bank offers what they call Managed Payout Solution products, symbols RBF581, RBF582 and RBF578. While the yield is high for each, the MERs are very high. Also, it is not clear that there are no other hidden fees such as trailers, or front or rear end loading. I would appreciate your opinion of these products.
Q: Please comment on latest quarter
Thanks

Q: Hi Peter and Staff
In my pipeline holdings I had IPL and ENB as double what I had ALA,PPL,KEY and TRP. If I read things correctly, they may be more reliant on oil sands projects that the rest. Does it make sense to look at all of them equally going forward or is IPL still better than ALA,PPL,KEY and TRP going forward?
Thanks for all you do
Dennis

Q: Seems like this Company is growing Revenue and Income. Analysts have a very large growth in earnings for 2016. Good yield at 6.7% without return of capital I believe. Looks like the latest annual payout is around 70%, and I think quite sustainable. Debt due to acquisition rather than capital and dilution. Would You buy at this price for a long term hold or do you expect more downside in the near future.
Q: What are your thoughts on Capital Power's recent 7.35% dividend increase and on the company in general going forward?
Q: I hold some XHY in my margin and TFSA. The Canadian dollar has come down since I purchased about 2 months ago. The prediction is for a lower dollar. How risky is this downward slide , should I sell now? I just bought for the increased yield.Thank you,Phyl
Q: Have a nice div., above the 50DMA, increased div. but the p/b shows as -3.41. How can a stock have negative p/b value? Please explain, would you recommend to buy, perhaps an alternative. Also, how will the stock react to an interest increase? Many thanks, J.P Burlington
Q: Could you please provide your comments and future prospects of this company.
Thanks

Q: Hi 5i,
I have held ZWA in our RRIF,s for income for a couple of years. Recently added some ZWH which has a higher yield. Both are doing fine. What would you think of using just ZWH for the higher yield? These ETF,s do not represent total US exposure. Most US is held in other accounts.
Best regards, and thanks for your service.

Q: Hi Team,
In my kids RESP (ages 8 and 11) after trimming ESL, ATD, dividends and recent contributions there is enough for another position.
They hold now ATD,ESL,CGX,IPL,MG,BIN,SYZ,DHX,XEG,XFN,XRE,XSU.
Can you suggest another couple of names to consider either for diversification needs or for maybe some US exposure. I was thinking maybe Disney or Apple.
I am guessing we have about 8 more years until the funds are needed.
Thank you,
Brent

Q: i have been reluctant to buy telcos because of customers reducing or dropping tv packages at ever increasing rates.i would very much appreciate your opinion on this and how it could affect future earnings and growth profile for bell and telus . thanks for the great service!

Q: Would you please review the key metrics for VGR and let me know what you think of this company as a reliable source of income and some growth. Would VGR be impacted significantly by interest rate increases?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Q: Does CU utilize coal in its business? In previous answers you refer to the share price drop being investor concern regarding Alberta energy policy. What specifically are the concerns? With interest rate concerns as well would you consider the price now ~$32.37, a buy. I hold a small position bought at 36.26 and would like to add more mainly for growing income.
Thank you ever so much.
Thank you ever so much.
Q: What financial engineering encourages companies like Transalta and Enbridge to " drop down" assets into majority owned subsidiaries? Thanks
Q: I hold this stock and wonder if you would recommend a switch to another in the same space that you might recommend. I do own Mainstreet Equity. In August you said MEQ was a good company still. Thank you.
Q: Given thier earnings release earlier this month, whats your view of this company going forward. What is the upside potential over the next year and risks.
Q: Yield is 5.6%. Is this too much of an aggressive play on Canadian Mortgages? More risky than simply buying the big banks?
Q: CU has been one of my most steady dividend growers and I have held it for about 15 years. BUT is down +10 in Nov alone. Any idea why? Does utility exposure in a portfolio include pipes and renewables like ENB and BEP?
