Q: Dear 5i:
I hold EWU an ETF that tracks the larger UK market. Any idea what the impact would be on it if Scotland actually secedes on the 18th?

Q: Western Can. Select oil is posted at minus $13.78 US compared to WTI . This is relatively low. Do you have any insights as to whether this is an investable move and what names might benefit based on production and hedging if it was?

Q: Hi,
I'm a buy and hold investor and am up 25% on HCG, a riskier investment than my normal TD, SLF, Manulife, TELUS type investments. HCG has dropped of late and is making me nervous. Is it time to get out? What are its long term, say five year, prospects?

Q: Dear Peter,
I'm glad to see that contributions to your ride are continuing and you are now at 98%. Way to go! My question is about investing in European securities. It was mentioned in a recent answer that 5% of a portfolio be in Europe and 10% in USA. What do you think are the best way(s) to invest in those areas?
Linda

Q: Hello 5i team
On aug 29/14 BCM spiked over $1.79 for about 1 hour of trading and settled back to normal.I have not been able to find any information as to why. Could it have been someone trying to pump it up, possible news coming but did not materialize. Also do you think that the SEC should investigate this kind of market behavior. Your thoughts on this stock todady, have read your previos posts.
Thank You
Vinny

Q: Hi,
Could you confirm if my reasonning is correct? Earlier this week, Mario Draghi introduced a series of measures aimed at boosting the European economy. One of the effects of these measures will be to lower the value of the Euro relative to the US dollar.
I'm contemplating buying shares of Nestle. If I were to wait a few weeks or months for the Euro to effectively fall, would Nestle's share be cheaper if I bought them over the counter (OTC) at that time? Or is the Nestle share price OTC set based on other factors?
Robert

Q: Hi Peter & Gang
The question is regarding Zenyetta, ZEN.
Your last comment was February 6th. Do you have further insights that would lead me to want to include it in my "risk" portfolio
Thanks, and happy peddling

Q: TFI/CSS
About 4 weeks ago I was preparing to add a position of CSS into my non registered portfolio. This is about the time the TFI take over came to light. My question now is should I wait for the dust to settle? Depending on outcome would TFI be a better choice for this sector, and if given stock price would now be the time to add a position?
Thanks
Phil

Q: On your research reports, how are you calculating the dividend (expressed as a percentage)? I am assume that this is some kind of yield calculation? Also, in the '5i Report Card' sidebar on the left hand side, would you consider adding dividend growth as a criteria?
Q: Just a follow-up thought to the Legacy question, investors should be reminded that the price they paid for any security is irrelevant to the decison of whether to hold or not. "Hoping" to break-even is not the way to think about a security. Instead, the fair value means everything. The stock doesn't know what you have paid for it, and it shouldn't matter because the price is what the price is. I think you have done a good job of mentioning this in the past and instead focusing on whether the company is still a good buy/hold/sell going forward.
Q: Deere (DE). It's a cyclical stock and seems like we are in the down cycle. Any good reason to stay with this one?
Q: TFI TransForce calling! TFI phoned me Friday after market close. I missed the call but they left a message asking me to give them a call. (AS if!) This call came the day TFI hit an all time high and CSS was stuck in the mud. Insulting. I am taking heart that this might be an omen that not all is going as planned for the buyout as I own CSS and not TFI.
