Q: I have small positions in CFL (-30%) and OR (-2%) that I am thinking selling. I am also looking at increasing my positions for CHW, DR, HWO, PRW and KLS. I am a long term investor and can handle risk.

Looking at the basket above, do you recommend selling CFL and/or OR to invest in CHW, DR, HWO, PRW and/or KLS ?

Can you also rank CHW, DR, HWO, PRW and KLS for long term growth ?

Q: Peter & Co. I am building a basket of small cap bioteck stocks. I currently have modest positions in Cipher (DND), Knight (GUD) and ProMetic (PLI). I am lookin to add a couple more small positions to this group. I am considering Nova Research (NRI) and Intellipharmaceutics (I). Do you consider these two companies as appropriate selections for an investor with high risk tolerance or would you suggest other names?

Q: I am a retired Dividend-Income investor and need to bump up my asset allocation in the Industrial-Tech sector.

I have narrowed it down to WSP and ET from your Income portfolio. ET looks good but seems fairly illiquid. WSP appears to have better metrics than ET (P/BV, P/Sales, upside based on Globefund summaries), but the beta is a little higher. Additionally, RBC has WSP as overvalued.

I like to give a stock time to run and have a healthy dividend. What are your thought on buying WSP vs ET at this time?

Q: I currently hold a significant number of shares in this company and it represents approx. 10% of my portfolio. I am down 47% and am wondering if it is time to throw in the towel or double down. My understanding is that Argonaut is a low cost producer with little or no debt, but their share price keeps plummeting.

I realize that this company represents too large a proportion of my portfolio but believe much of what AR is experiencing is sector related. but I would appreciate you comments on the company in general and their financial in particular.

Q: This is more of a comment than a question, although I would be interested in knowing what drove the action yesterday - extremely unusual for any stock. It started with a huge gap down, no doubt in response to their earnings. Then, wow! It took off with volumes 5 times the 100 day MA. My first response was, as other correspondents, to sell. But the four analysts available on the Scotia iTrade website are all on the positive side, agreeing with you at 5i. And since I am not a trader but an investor, I am holding on. Something positive seems to be in the works.

Have you taken a look at Spectra7 since August? It seems they have moved a bit. It seems they have developed a Virtual Reality Wireless headset which I assume would be enjoyed by gamers. Am I correct? How do their prospects look going forward?

Pure Multi-Family REIT has two issues listed RUF.U and RUF.UN. What is the difference between them? Would you recommend an investment in this company?
They also have a 6.5% convertible debenture. Would the DB be a safer place to go in a young business? Would the shares be better held in a RIF or TFSA?

Q: A comment to Marc's question.

Note that, as of Feb.10, 2015 (i.e. one year before maturity), Vermillion can redeem ("call") this bond at 100% of face value (plus any accumulated interest), i.e. without any additional "sweetener". If Vermillion feels that it can refinance this debt in the current environment with a better interest rate than 6.5%, it is quite likely to be redeemed and you likely will actually lose a bit of money (based on your above-par purchase price).

I suspect that this is the reason that the apparent >4% yield-to-maturity looks so attractive for such a short-term holding, since it is quite likely that the bond will be called.
