Q: Hi team:
I have hold the above for awhile, all of a sudden, in the last 2 weeks, it went up

Q: Interpipeline (IPL) raised it's dividend substantially in November '14 and raised it a record 18 cents or about 13% yesterday while reporting record revenues. Analysts expected more but is it possible they expected too much? This company has delivered stellar results since March 2009 when I bought it at $8,40. Would you agree and still buy it today?
How does Northland Power (NPI)look for dividend safety and possibly some capital gains?
Thank you.

Q: I recently noticed that Acker Finley came out with a model price of 16.83 on this stock which is a bit shocking. Do you have any thoughts on the fair value of this company?

Q: In reference to Sheldon's question (Feb 20th) regarding the recent rise in BDI's share price. It is no doubt partially due to the tax incentives announced by Stephen Harper recently....

"The federal government is hoping to kickstart a multibillion-dollar industry that, according to one analyst, is currently suffering an anxiety attack. Speaking in B.C., Prime Minister Stephen Harper unveiled new tax breaks for investment in liquefied natural gas.

The new measures mean companies will now get a capital cost allowance of 30 per cent for LNG equipment. And 10 per cent for buildings at LNG facilities. The government projects the tax break will save the industry about $50 million over the first five years.

Another estimate says it will allow companies to write off 90 per cent of their investments in seven years, instead of 27."

Q: Hello Peter
I'd like to invest in Horizons Betapro S&P 500 Bull plus ETF which is trading on TSX .My question to you is: is this ETF hinged or unhinged and what is advantage and disadvantage on hinged and unhinged ETFs and because the fund is exposed to U.S equity indices will it fall under the US $100,000 reporting rules (Form 1135).

Q: Hi 5i,

Of the four listed companies, which three would be the best for income growth over the next few years?

Thanks in advance!

Q: Hi Peter I think you "like" the stock and it seems to have a nice p/e ,decent dividend to allow for growth...you have also mentioned possible large real estate value not fully recognized on books I think. Time to add a small position in a new non-financial/energy/utility company and I am thinking of this one. Without regard to industry as it will be a small holding do you like it better than GH,RPI.UN, CSW.A and WB and if not which one is your favourite of the group and why over ADW.A
Thanks for all you do

Q: I've been in and out on PLI a couple of times. It has been a volatile stock. It has hit new highs lately. I'd like to get back in but I feel it has received a lot of attention now and it might be overpriced at this time. I want back in but feel the price will drop and if I wait it out I'll get a better price. What are your thoughts ?

Q: Not sure whether this is a fair question or not. I have been trying to find out which companies may best profit from a couple of new technologies being driverless automobiles and 3D printing. Would you have any insight into this? Thanks in advance.

Q: Held on to Legacy and Surge for too long I think. Would you sell and rotate into some stronger names you have mentioned or would you recommend holding? Thank you.

Q: Hello Peter et al.

There was a surprising news release that came out last night on Mart Resources and I have been reading a lot of different speculation into it. Their CEO has been releived of his duties pending and investigation internally. He sold a lot of shares 6M from Dec to early Jan. He is in personal trouble with payments in divorce court with the judge in the UK. They have put the company under strategic review for possible sale etc. They have only just started to get production to higher levels with the new pipeline. Would you please comment on this for me. Is the shares going to crash when the market opens Monday? The uncertainty and speculation because of the strange news release might cause the share price to crater. The risk of Nigeria I guess.

Regards,

Brendan

Q: Hi, 5i, As you get bigger, isn't it inevitable that you will be pushed away from your position as the best picker of small/medium-sized companies with the best risk/reward ratio for medium/long term holding? This advice, judging from the consistent stream of accolades showered upon you by members (to which I have contributed), is your most appreciated service. By trying to satisfy everyone's other wishes, are you not in danger of being "random-walked" into just a good fund manager? I vote that you stick with your knitting. As ever I am very grateful for what you have done for my portfolio. I just want it to continue a bit longer. Henry

Q: It appears, based on some recent questions , that you conducted a survey of members. I would like to participate, but try as I may, I could not locate the survey on your site nor did I see anything directed to me as an e-mail. How do I access the survey?
