Q: Hi Peter and team, I've held Trimac since October with flat or declining growth. It has an OK dividend however I would like a current opinion on it and suggestions for a possible replacement in my well diversified portfolio.

I own NPR.UN and have not liked the price drop from when I bought it but with low payout ratio, I was prepared to wait it out hoping that if Alberta picks up so will it. I am now considering bailing out in favour of REF.UN.

Q: Hello Peter, I manage my elderly mother’s accounts. Investments are well-diversified amongst her RRIF and non-registered account. As she had significant unused TFSA room available, we decided to contribute a few stocks and some cash from her non-registered account. Currently, the TFSA is 50% WSP, 23% NPR.UN and 27% cash to be invested. The situation changed, however, when she (thoughtfully) decided to name her grandchildren as the TFSA beneficiaries, which causes me to consider the TFSA’s makeup on a more standalone basis (including to protect the children’s legacy). With a 5-year plan, would you agree with acquiring BCE with the remaining cash (with its almost 5% yield and some growth potential) or do you agree with my inclination to perhaps buy CDZ instead (giving up some yield but gaining some diversification safety and presumably better growth potential). Or you may have a different recommendation. Thanks in advance!

Q: Further to Helen's June 18th question on CPX.Pr.A, based on todays 5 yr GOC yield of 0.96% and an indicated reset spread of 2.17%, if you bought the stock at today's close price of $14.12 I believe you would obtain a yield of about 5.54% at reset (Dec 31, 2015) for the next 5 years. In the interim you obtain a yield of 8.27% to reset. I assume at reset the company just resets the rate and the price of the stock would remain at about the same level and your yield would drop from 8.27% to 5.54%. Do I generally have all this right or am I missing something? It seems quite appealing for a decent credit. Thanks.

Q: I purchased ACQ when I first joined 5i, and it has since gone down. If I sold it, would there be another name that I could buy that would give me a better return over the next year?
I do not have byd.un, would this do better, or do you have a better suggestion?
