Q: Hi Peter & 5i: What are your thoughts on recent corporate activity by what is now Fission Uranium Corp (FCU), formerly Fission Energy (FIS). As I understand it they have cash on the balance sheet, are streamlining their focus onto their favorite asset piece, and spinning other assets out in ways that should give them additional liquidity and some upside potential, while off-loading exploration costs and sharing out the risk burden on an ongoing basis. It sounds like all they need are continuing positive drill results. Do you like the looks of FCU post re-org?
Q: Hi Peter and crew. Re SW. The earnings were out yesterday. By any chance have you been able to review/look at them yet.? Thank you for your continued good work. I very much value your opinion.
Thanks Phyl in BC
Q: Please provide your thoughts on Neptune (NTB-T). It is having a little breakout today after a guest on BNN said it was a table pounding buy.
Best, Don
Q: In my wife's TFSA she currently holds MFC and PJC , both with substantial gains. We are thinking about selling the MFC and half the PJC. This would bring PJC back to the original investment amount.Does this seem like a reasonable strategy based on the outlook for these companies?
For reinvestment we are looking at KBL, AHF and VRX. Would these present better growth opportunities? If not, anything else you would suggest?
Many thanks
Mike
Q: On May 2 Martinrea (MRE-TSX) reported good earnings and the introduction of a dividend. What is your opinion on this stock? Due to the bounce in stock price I could take some modest profits or do you see more up side in this stock?
Q: Peter -i am doing well with my portfolios thanks to you. I am thinking of moving money out of Parklane Fuels and Carfinco to buy into other names such as aya, dsg, and avo. I already own some of avo and aya. However, it does not seem as if carfinco or parklane fuel will be moving very much in the short term and the market is hot. What are your thoughts.
Q: Good Morning,
Just subscribed to your newsletter/site. Fantastic service. As a former Financial Addvisor I share Peter's views with the conflicts inherent in the industry.
I own a few shares in Edleun (EDU). Their business model seems quite sound to me. I wonder if it would be worth averaging down a little on this?
Any thoughts on EDU?
Cheers,

Q: I would like your opinion of Uranerz URZ (Amendment to annual report and the financing through bonds). Would you agree the uranium companies have bottomed, from what I see it looks like supply is going to be short in a year or 2. thanks
I am interested in MXF from First Asset. Specifically what do you think about the 25% covered call strategy? Also given the materials sector as a whole do you think that this is a good way to have strong cash flow while also positioning for upside with an eventual market upturn? When I contrast this etf versus say XMA the near term cash flow is extremely tempting at these valuations.
Thanks in advance for the great work and I greatly appreciate your web site and opinions.
Q: High Peter and Team ,
I hold some BB , what is your view on this stock after news release in the last 24 Hrs .
I can take some profit now or hold. ???
Jim .
Q: What constitutes a "defensive" stock? What percentage of a portfolio should defensive stocks play in today's financial climate? Would you consider the following to be defensive holdings: Any of the big five Canadian Banks, Telus, Enbridge, Cineplex, Power Financial, a food company like Saputo or Empire. If these don't fit the bill I would appreciate your suggestions. Thank you. John.
Q: I have a question about Auto Canada, can you comment on their chrysler exposure. What portion of sales does it represent? I understand Chrysler is the weakest of the big north american companies, how does is fare in Canada compared to its peers.
