Q: Hi Team: can you comment on the recent financing and acquisition by HLP.un. They seem to be agressively growing their business. Thanks

Q: What is your outlook for the REIT sector?
It does not appear that interest rates are going anywhere,
they pay a healthy dividend & low beta.
Do you have a favorite.

As always - thank you

Q: Peter and Team,

Is it time to cut and run on Kirkland Lake Gold? It feels wrong to sell such a high grade asset so low but it seems like it can't do anything right these days. Maybe I should be selling this and rolling it into my existing B2 Gold position (also own Goldcord and some bullion) or maybe I should be moving it to another "physical" name totally out of the gold space like Stella Jones?

I can't help but feel like the day I sell KGI will be the day that I miss out on some big guy coming in and buying this at a premium but still cheap!

Q: Helathlease Properties HLP.UN has released a new offering of $50mil in new units @ $10. I currently do not have any REITs and the 8.5% dividend at this price looks quite attractive. Would this be a good time to buy HLP or do you see any hidden concerns with HLP in specific or the Health/REIT Sector in general to avoid this area at this time. Thank you.

Q: I have decent gains in Emera (EMA) after buying in the fall. The dividend yield is now getting towards my lower range for a non-growth type company. Would it make any sense to swap EMA for Brookfield Renewable (BEP.UN). This would give me a 1%+ bump in yield but stay within the industry. Which company has the better blend of growth/dividend increase potential going forward? Is the relatively high P/E ratio at Brookfield a concern?

Thank-you

Q: Bad, Badger,
(Bad is Good!!) I have had 5 fold profit on this, sold some along the way, regretfully, but it is again about 7.5% of my unregistered portfolio. I am not adverse to risk, and I believe one has to let its winners run.But after such a good run Would it be wise to trim it to 5% for disciplined portfolio management, despite the tax bill. Having cash to redeploy also could be a could idea. It is easier to buy than to sell, and I need the kick to make me do it. Thanks for you input.

Q: Hi Team : John O'Connell made some very critical comments concerning yield energy stocks. He basically trashed the whole sector, with the exception of WCP. Thoughts , rebuttal?

Q: Regarding portfolio weightings: The Globe and Mail portfolio will tell you what % of your portfolio any given stock is. Entering all stocks with your buys and sells into one portfolio will give you the %s across all accounts, but sector weighting is not available. Still, not bad for a free service.
