Q: This is more of a followup to the question about selling in view of the mess in the US right now. I am also up allot due in part to your great advise. I did bite the bullet and sold to protect my gains. My reasoning is that the potential upside is far less than the potential downside. I would rather be a scared chicken than a dead duck at this point. Something to think about.

Q: Peter,
Why is TOU not moving with gas prices? Do you think there is a lot of downside to this stock if one buys here. Thanks

Q: Hello Pieter; I currently have approx. 5,500 in my TFSA to invest for a 3-5 year hold. I had previously invested in REITS & though I still believe in the REIT space, I am looking to invest in stocks that would provide more steady growth and dividend increases over time. I have selected several such as: BYD.UN, HCG, BAD, STN & MG as possible candidates. Can you please suggest the top 2 that you see as having the highest potential for continued appreciation and dividend increases. I currently hold small positions in the following: AW.UN (26% of total), CGX (19%), DH (24%), FRU (14%) & IPL (17%). Thanks for your help.
Q: I would like to know what the percentage breakdown in sectors would make a good stable portfolio. IE Financials/Energy/technolgy/Health care etc.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Q: Still not sure what to do. Sell or Hold my stocks. You said earlier that they would settle the Dept.Ceiling but it's getting very close now. I'm hoping i'm not asking this to late to get a answer. Would need to know by noon Oct. 16th. If they don't settle should I be selling my stocks. I'm up quite a bit so i'd hate to lose it. Hope I can get a answer soon. Thank You Very Much For All Your Help. Andy
Q: WIN As nobody has asked about the recent news on Wi-lan I will. Not impressed with the stocks response but I thought the news very good on pretty well most fronts. ie court costs, EPS and Apple court case outcome. How about you?
Q: PPLT Platinum ETF What do you think of platinum at this point? With your theme of liking car parts makers and as I am (mostly) out of gold I am looking over this ETF. Or is the another platinum ETF you prefer more?
Q: Peter , is it a good time to add to YRI or should I wait for a turn around .

Q: Hi Peter, I'm seriously overweight Badger (BAD) at 13.5% (still love it) and am considering dumping PPL and PKI as decent dividend plays but under performing the rest of my portfolio.
If I trimmed Badger and sold the other two would any or all of BBVA, SAN, ORI, KBWD and WTE work as dividend plays with decent growth potential.
Thanks

Q: Hi Peter and Crew,
Thanks for the great service and answering all the recent questions on BAD-T. BAD-T is a long term holding of mine, and a recently increased holding based on a 5i high rating).
With BAD-T continuing to perform well within its sector, do you see a dividend increase in the pipes?
Thanks,

Q: I currently have a portfolio of 20 stocks with about a 5% weighting in each position. My investment objective is long term growth with increasing dividends. Three of my holdings are IPL.un(Inter Pipeline), GEI(Gibson)and ALA(Altagas. Are these companies sufficiently different to continue holding all three or would it be better to diversify into another sector? And if you were to sell one or 2 of these which would it be?
Q: Prometic Life Sciences (PLI) was really promoted on BNN last week on Market Call. Would appreciate your thoughts on this small cap stock. Thanks for this amazing service. Lorraine
