Q: Peter and team:
What do you think of xlk as a broad brush play on the technology sector? Is there a Canadian equivalent? (either Canadian companies or American companies in can. funds). Could you briefly touch on how etf's are handled vs. pure stocks @ tax time?

Q: I was considering investing in Cogeco for the telecom side, what is opinion on that? I already have some Telus which are not doing great but not too badly thanks to dividents. But cogeco I was thinking of as a growth stock also Cogeco has CGO or CCA does it matter which one? I was thinking of CGO because I understand they are thinking of entering the wireless sector.

Q: As a relative newcomer to this industry (fracing sand), and holding no stocks in this area, would now be a good time to step in given the recent pullback in share prices?

If the answer is "yes", would you have a preference for HCLP over EMES or SCLA, or would you advocate a basket approach and buy all 3?

Q: Hi, I noticed that you recommended a Vanguard Canadian index ETF called VCE in your answer to another questions. Vanguard also has one called VCN which seems to cover Canadian large, medium and small cap. Which one do you think is better and why? I already own many of the stocks in your portfolio and am just looking to add diversification.

Q: Model Portfolio
I have been out of the market due to circumstances and travel. I am now prepared to re-enter the market and wish to be relatively passive. Since your team do all the research work with excellent returns over-all I want to invest in your Model Portfolio now.

I have questions about the approach to investing at this time.
1) Are you still recommending each and every holding in the Portfolio?
2) Weighting: Should I apply equal weighting per holding at this time?
2) Even though we have had a minor correction, would it be wise to dollar cost average into the portfolio - say between now and ??? mid-December... weekly perhaps.

Q: HI Team,

I currently own equal weightings in both TDG and WRG. WRG has held up far better than my TDG holding. What do you think about consolidating under just one name? Which one would you suggest better to hold for my exposure in this sector. Alternatively, is PD a better play than either of them?

Q: Hi Peter and team, leading gold mining companies like G, ABX, YRI, K are all trading at multi year low levels. P/B ratios for YRI and K are well below 1. Aren't these companies are deeply undervalued? If so is it ok to have a slight bias towards gold mining sector to seize an opportunity for the next 6 - 12 months.

Q: Hi Peter
I belong to an investment club and I was shocked to hear that it could be time to sell this stock . I was told that between the glut in oil and US energy efficiency , it might have had its day . What do you think ? I hold it in my RRSP . Can you recommend a better replacement ?
