Q: Hello, thanks to 5I I feel comfortable with my diversified assets here in Canada, and I'm happy with what I have in the U.S.
Can you recommend some ETF's that can help me cover the rest of the world(maybe 3-4)? I'm ok with risk and can hold for 10+ years if needed. What would your total percent weighting recommendation be for these?
I would like to hold these in a TFSA, but what would the tax implications be? Or would it be better to keep them in an RRSP account because of the implications?

Q: Can you comment on the earning for pivot, seems sales have slowed down quite a bit, was thinking of taking a position now that it has come back from the highs. They are still going a head with their .03 divident which would be a almost a 7% yield, would this divident be sustainable?

Q: After analysis of my portfolio, and finally realizing that building a diversified portfolio is key to limiting risk as much as possible I've discovered that I need to add to the following sectors. Would you please suggest 2-3 companies that I could add to these sectors to help my diversification. Since I'm retired some yield and a company's ability to sustain and increase it would be helpful.
1. Utilities (currently 5% of portfolio) Already own BEP.UN
2. Industrials (currently 7% of portfolio) Already own BIN and WSP
3. Info Tech (currently 5% of portfolio) Already own ESL and XLK.US
4. Energy (currently 4% of portfolio)Already own HSE
5. Materials (currently 0% of portfolio) I own no companies

Q: I've been sitting on POE for a couple of years waiting for a home run. It hasn't happened. There are a few moving parts to the company (Thailand producing oil fields/Indonesia gas exploration/Canadian SAGD test plant)so it's a bit complex. How would 5i rate the potential of POE?

I would like to take advantage of the stronger returns in the US market, and thought I would allocate about a third to this market. What are your thoughts?With a 3-5 year view, I am wondering whether the loonie will be stronger by then and as a result, I could realize a currency loss - the loonie couldn't get much weaker it seems, and will surely rebound by then, or is this the new "normal"? I'm guessing most people believe the potential of the US economy vs the Cdn, more than outweighs the possibility for future currency losses, correct? I also would like to know whether most people put in stops, or not - what is the general strategy bebind doing this, putting them in near purchase price or well beneath it. Thanks for suggestion that VRX would be a good candidate for a covered call. I bought 100 shares around $270 in early May and wrote a July $300 call for about $1,500. (Un)fortunately, the stock rose quite a lot so now option is in money. Any suggestions what to do? (i.e., do you like VRX enough to suggest I should buy option at a loss so my position isn't exercised?). Thanks for great service!

Q: Would you consider today's price a very good entry point? I understand there may be some uncertainty surrounding the intended use of funds from the US asset sale but that seems way over done? Also, someone on BNN mentioned that it would likely soon not be considered a "REIT" by definition based on it's income mix and therefore, was being dumped by REIT focused funds regardless of fundamentals. If this is the case, I would think that stock price here is an excellent buying opportunity or is it going even lower? Your thoughts/comments are appreciated

Q: I have had quite a nice return with Enghouse but how does one decide when its time to lighten up or dispose of a position completely? It still only represents a 5% position of my portfolio but I feel that it must now be fully valued if not overvalued. Notwithstanding its attractive fundamentals (no debt, high growth rate, dividend increases) given its high P/E I'm thinking that there will be little upside over the next 12 -18 months with the possibility of a significant drop if there is a market correction. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Q: The BMO shares are down over $1.00 at the moment, far more than the other banks. Yet BMO raised their dividend and the results for the quarter slightly beat expectations. Why the drop in value?

Q: Mr. Hodson, this stock gets a rather low rating from analysts.
For example, at TD WebBroker, the ratings are Under Perform (2), Hold (5), Buy (1) and Strong Buy (0).
At RBC Direct Investing, the Consensus Recommendation provided by Thomson Reuters is 3.13 (on a scale of 5 to 1, 5 being a Strong Sell). How could analysts have it so wrong, when the stock is clearly a strong performer for quite some time ?

The matter is entirely different when it comes to AYA (Amaya), and presumably rightly so. Amaya is much appreciated by analysts. Why the difference of treatment ?

CSU is a good stock, but is not much appreciated by analysts, while AYA is the darling of analysts. Is this a game for analysts ? Of course AYA has been a star recently, but CSU is clearly a good value stock. Maybe AYA is reaching for the stars, while CSU is only an outstanding performer...
