Q: AFN-seems real expensive on a PE and CF basis, huge debt and high pay-out ratio. Pays .20 per mth -way more than it makes and in a lot of different agra businesses; but, do they have the concentration to give them pricing power. I was thinking of buying0-but, metrics look stretched to say the least.

Q: Good Morning Peter and Team,
Presently I own shares of Algoma Central (ALC- TSX) which I purchased back in 2010. The shares have nearly doubled from my original purchase price. ALC is effectively controlled by the Jackman Family through EL Financial. I have been looking to switch out of part (or all) of ALC into Contrans Group. (better yield, better growth, family may sell) You mentioned on BNN that the family that owns a large stake in Contrans Group may sell out. I do not think that the Jackman family will sell their stake in ALC in either the short or medium term. I would appreciate your opinion of the above switch. Thank you. DL

Q: Peter and Team,
Can you post the definition to "Averaging Down" ? I often set myself up so that I gradually get into positions by, say, starting with a postion in a stock that is 2-3% of the portfolio and work my way up to 5%. If one does this and tries to make the second, third, etc. purchases on dips does this mean you are averaging down or simply staging entry?
I always understood averaging down to be defined as taking full portfolio position and then buying more if the stock goes down meaning if it returned to the original purchase cost it would now be more than 5%.
This is probably a confusing note, but I think there is confusion on the meaning of this term.

Q: I hold 500 shares of Algonquin bought at approx $4.20 in 2009. I am looking for something similar and wondered if I should look at BEP, or rather than that at BIP. Thanks in advance and as a newcomer I am enjoying your site.

Q: Do you have any comment on CFN's recent decline? I also noted that they raised equity for the first time in a long time. Is that a concern?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: ACQ
ACQ new financing and insider selling looks similar to the recent CFN insider selling. Does that mean ACQ is at a peak and overvalued, and can go into the decline that CFN has been suffering in the last 2 months.

Q: Hello. New member here !
I bought WXM (First Asset Morningstar Canada Momentum Index ETF) last week. Good or bad idea ?
NAV is small; is it a problem for an ETF that hold 30 widely held canadian stocks ?
