Q: Hi Team. I own both ppy painted pony and Alta gas. they have announced a strategic alliance on gas exploration and processing. Is this long term significant and is it a win win for both in your opinion?

Q: My TFSA is fully topped up. I currently hold AVO, BNS, CCL.b, IPL and SPB. AVO has been been a disappointment but I'll hang in.
I am thinking of selling IPL and possibly BNS and replacing with XHY ishares bond fund. Thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Q: What do you think of holding the Pimco PGI.UN as an alternative to cash? They seem to have a strong yield and little volatility. Thanks.
Q: BEP.UN (Brookfield Renewable): thoughts on latest results please. Thanks!

Q: In a diversified - 50 stocks - all Canadian 7 figure portfolio I hold the following 10 names with a cumulative value of 23% of my portfolio:
VSN, PPL, IPL
KEY, ALA, WCP, SGY, GEI, PEY, PKI
All of them have been very good to great this year. Some are 30 baggers over a 4 year period. I know they're all solid companies but it is too much of a good thing?
I do have solid representation in financials, REITs, tech and misc small caps in the rest of my portfolio.
My gut says let 'em run but thought I would check with the pros.
Thanks for your comments and I'll close by saying what I am sure is true for many: 5I is core to my investing knowledge and process and part of my daily reading.

Q: Re EIF Exchange Income, are you still relatively positive on EIF after conference call? The market seems generally positive although the guidance for Westower remains a bit dicey with no improvement in margins until next year. Would you consider this high risk?
Q: Hi Peter What is the catalyst that keeps pushing IPL to theses levels I have a large 7.5% position and I think I may trim.

Q: I am an investor in my mid seventies. In the past I have been able to purchase new issue convertible debentures for 5 yr, paying on average 5.5%. Unfortunately this market has dried up. Several of my debentures have come due and as a result I now hold a large amount of cash. Can you suggest 5 or 6 blue chip stocks that pay dividends in the 5% range? Should I hold my cash and wait for a correction or begin buying now? Thank you for your opinion.
Q: Peter, Your short and long term view for Direct Cash, DCI please. Is the dividend sustainable over the long run. Looking for buy and long term hold, Thanks Ken
