Q: Hi Peter
I am a new member and this is my first question. I would like to know if you have an opinion on AGF.B. This is one of the losers in my portfolio. I bought it for the yield plus a positive recommendation from RBC where I have an account.

Q: Peter,

TOL keeps falling nearly everyday and now my position in TOL is at less than 50% of my purchase price. Based on their resources, production and other facts, it is poised to be a good takeover candidate, but the price is a matter of concern and does not move up even with positive movement in either oil or natural gas prices. What should one do in such a situation. Buy more or sell and get out. Thanks

Q: What do you think of Calian Technologies?
Is the dividend safe in your opinion and what is the payout ration?
The P/E seems reasonable or am I mistaken?
Does Calian's income/profit seem stable or is it subject to big swings?
I presume there is not much float in the stock so the stock price is somewhat unstable.

National Bank just reduced it's recommendation from $2.5 to a stunning $1.5. Is it a case of back to reality (and what new reality that could be?) or the canary in the coal mine type of warning...

Thank you for starting 5i Research. I will be a loyal subscriber for many years to come. My question is regarding Guardian Capital Group.(GCG.A) From a valuation perspective it looks cheap. The securities holdings alone are worth the market cap and debt. What would someone interested in the asset management business only (they have $16 Billion AUM) pay for the operating business ??? Q: Peter,

ACQ has been falling regularly in a pretty good US market. What do you think might be the reasons behind this? Keeping the uncertainty surrounding Europe, should one be a bit more cautious and reduce positions to keep cash until the situation is back to normal.
