Q: Any comments on EIF? I recently purchased this because things looked very solid but am down 6% already. Also noticed heavy insider selling at the $26 dollar level. Any concerns?

Q: Fiera Capital (FSZ) has shown surprising share price upside during the last few months on modest volumes. Recent pullback has also been noticed. What would you suggest be an appropriate entry price for a hold of 18 to 24 months? In your view what would fuel any likely price appreciation? I consult your site every day. Thanks!

Q: Hi Peter & 5i: regarding Blaine's question on Partners REIT. There was a fire that destroyed one of their multi unit buildings at the Evergreen Shopping Centre in Sooke, BC, on July 31st. I believe that is a substantial reason for their continued descent the last week, while many other Canadian REITs appear to have been stabilizing a bit. The fire was "suspicious." Haven't heard anything on insurance coverage or dollar value loss estimates yet. Presumably they'll have some comments about it when they report later this week.

When a company puts out a news release stating they have hired a company for financial advisory services in relation to potential strategic relationships, combinations and transactions to enhance commercialization efforts
What exactly does the financial advisory service company do ?
(news release on TMD July 16th is an example)

Q: Hi Peter,

Could you give me your latest view on Thompson Creek Metals (TCM)? Their latest quarterly results showed improved operating results and the new gold/copper mine is coming on stream in Q4. Do you see this company returning to pre commodity slump levels? I have been a long time suffering shareholder and trying to decide if I should take my lumps and move on.

Q: Peter and Staff;
I just renewed my membership . I would like to recount what has happened to my RRIF since Jan. 2013. My RRSP was worth $283,000. at Dec. 31/2012. I had to convert to a RRIF on Jan.01/13 . My mandatory withdrawal, using my wife's age, was about $13,500. So the value dropped to about $270,000. Using your advice and investment methods the value today is $313,000. Please feel free to use me as an example on the value of 5i Research.

Q: In the past I have been burned buying stocks that are breaking out into new highs after they have already had a great run. My old inclination of searching for undervalued companies when they are unloved, and catching a run early, is hard to shake. Do you believe any of your portfolio picks are in the early stages of a nice climb, just as MG was 9 months ago and/or how much more upside can you see in something like Magna? - Thanks.
