Q: There was a recent laudatory article in Seeking Alpha extolling the virtues of Surge. The author made two points that stood out for me. First, that the break even point for the company is $36 per barrel (don't know if that is Cdn$ or US$). Second, that Surge made a recent announcement that their reserves on their Upper Shaunavon development are now estimated to be 250,000 barrels vs the previously announced 50,000 barrels.

Do you concur with these two points and if so, does that reduce your concerns about Surge going forward?

Q: I have noticed that these stocks in particular have rising at a moderate but regular and almost even pace over the past several weeks. I assume that it is due in part to rising oil prices, as all of them are impacted by business in those areas, but I also suspect that the market is starting to see that they have business outside oil as well.

My question is, as a momentum influenced investor, how do you decide when "momentum" has set? Is is based on a percentage increase greater than the index, is it based on increases over historical averages or peer group technical charts or is it something as basic as a gut feel?

Appreciate the education you provide us all.

Q: BAM.A continues to fall since your most recent comments. It currently trades at $64.40. I recently started to accumulate the stock at $67.90 as a long-term hold. I would appreciate knowing your current thoughts and if you suggest continuing to average in or wait until the apparent correction runs further. Thank you.

Q: Hello Peter, thanks to the extra $4500 in TFSA room and some additional uninvested cash, I'd like to now add two stocks from your Growth portfolio to my TFSA (where, of course, one prefers one's largest gains to occur). I already have full positions in AVO, DHX, XTC and GUD. Can you please recommend two choices based on current prices. Q: My wife has a locked in basic RRSP with about 20 thousand that is only allowed to hold mutual funds and I think ETFs(no stocks). Could you please recommend a few mutual funds or ETfs that are growth maybe similar to IWO since 95% of our total holdings are large cap blue chip and on the safe side. Q: Hi,

Your thoughts on Elon Musk's home rechargeable battery and it's investment impact on utility companies (Fortis, Emera, Canadian Utilities, etc…). I see Walmart is testing it out in some of their stores. I have read some pundits suggesting this will do to utility companies what the cell phone did to the land line business.

Q: Gentlemen. A quick question about TFSAs. My wife and I have both contributed the maximum allowed up to this point. The limit has been increased to 10000.00. Is the extra 4500.00 for this year and future years contributions. Or is it retroactive back to the beginning?
