Q: Do you consider any of these dividends to be unsustainable? Any other comments on these companies?

Q: I noticed when comparing both stocks (TDwaterhouse data base),
TOU : EPS =1.65, div/year = 0.48, P/E=7.6, P/CF =2.6
WCP : EPS =0.13, div/year= 0.34, P/E=32 , P/CF =3.2
If both have lots of cash flow, why WCP has much higher P/E than TOU ?, What is WCP doing with its cash ?, Is capex, paying debt, shares buy backs any of the reasons to explain their main difference in earnings? Can I assume that TOU has a better balance sheet and therefore is safer ? Thanks

Q: In a recent answer to a question on an oil company, you mentioned that it is hard to be optimistic on a company if you don't like the management team. So my question is, which of the management teams in the oil sector would you want to align yourself with, and why? Alternatively, which of the management teams would you not align yourself with? Please deduct as many credits as necessary to fully answer my question. Thank You.

I continue to hold the following stocks in oil and gas but wonder if the time has come to move on. What are your thoughts on continuing to hold or sell all or keep any if the suggestion is to sell do i hold off till tax selling season is over?

I have $10,000 that would like to invest in the Canadian oil patch. (Nuts eh)
Which would be better to invest in: Arc Re or Tourmaline Oil? This is for at least 5 years.

Q: I currently hold PEGI, TRP, ENB, PPL and CU. (approximately 20% of my RRIF portfolio)
However I am thinking of adding WCP, TOU and/or TOG.
Could you please rate these in order of preference. Or am I too heavy in resources.

Q: I'm thinking of switching tourmaline for vet. do you think that would be a positive switch for the long term. do you think the dividend for vet will be somewhat stable for the foreseeable future.

Q: Comments on the announcement of the establishment of Topaz and the benefits to TOU would be welcome.

Q: I own TOU in a taxable account at a loss which I could use to offset gains this year. I have several choices at this point:-
1. Continue to hold,
2. Sell and buy back after 30 days.
3. Sell and wait until Dec. to buy back hoping to take advantage of others tax loss selling.
4. Sell and deploy money elsewhere.
With the current climate for energy stocks I would appreciate your guidance - if there is a change of government in Oct. will this likely affect the outlook for energy - if so how?

I currently own TOU and VET and wish to purchase two more stocks in the same sector. Can you please recommend two more high quality stocks in the same sector that would complement TOU and VET. I will equal weight all 4 stocks in my portfolio.

As retirees, and still with a longer-term horizon, my wife and I own (and like) Suncor (integrated), Prairie Sky (no debt) and Peyto (low cost producer) for minimal risk; second, dividend income, and third, capital growth. Oil & Gas is 4% of our diversified portfolio. We plan to keep Suncor. I am considering Freehold Royalty, Tourmaline, and Ensign Energy Services as possible replacements for PSK and PEY.
Q1: Do you feel the stock price declines in the Canadian oil and gas sector represent investor capitulation?
Q2: I would appreciate your comments on the 3 stocks being considered. Would any of TOU, FRU or ESI better meet our investment objectives, compared to our current holdings, PSK and PEY?

Q: I’m underwater multi fathoms on this stock. I invested for the talent and expertise of Mike Rose and his team but the sector has been somewhat of a disaster despite his best efforts. It represents 1.25% of my portfolio now, down from about 2.75%. That’s bad enough but worse, I hold it in my RIF, so no write off. What would you do? Hold on to this small position or dispose of it and move on?

I am looking for oil companies to invest in, I would like a mid to small cap, company with reasonable debt and fairly decent cash flow. I don't mind taken higher risk with small caps, I just feel that it gives me a better upside, and like I say I don't mind the risk. Would like a little in the oil sands as I see the wti discount is a lot lower than before and have read that the world refineries are short of the heavy oil, not sure if this is true or not. Lastly what gas producers will benefit from the new pipe line and refinery, assuming that the darn thing gets build. I know I have asked a few questions so please take as many credits as you like

Q: With the LNG project moving forward,and even talk of expansion, what are thoughts on the sector over the next five years?
Which companies stand to gain the most?
Are there other options (ie drillers and camps) such as Trinidad, Precision, Black Diamond etc that are worth considering at this point.
