Q: Data Group's year-end results report substantial impairment charges against what look like not-so-bad revenues; supposing the write-down is a one-time charge, does this justify the recent price appreciation? Or is DGI still too ham-strung by its legacy business units? Even Yellow Pages came back from the dead.

Q: 5i,

I would like income. I also believe that the USD will be strong in the short to medium term and would like to capitalize on that.

What companies do you recommend that does a majority (or all) of their business in USD and also forks out a decent dividend?

Q: I have owned WTE for a number of year and have more than a double. The experts have said it's overvalued for about 2 years but it has kept going up. It has recently dropped about 15%. Has there been some bad news or are the experts finally right. Unless there's a disaster I would plan to keep on holding for its stability of earnings and solid dividend with dividend grow in the future.

Q: hello Peter....I have full position in Franco Nevada, with paper gain of 20%, and 1/2 position in Goldcorp. FNV is sliding down, following announcement of results for 4th quarter 2014 and guidance going forward. I'm inclined to trade out FNV and use funds to more of G and/or Primero and Argonaut. What's your take?.......Thanks.....Tom M

Q: Star Gas SGU. It has been a couple of years since someone queried this one. Has this worked its way into your good books? It has a nice 5.7% yield. I am looking for a SGY type of stock on the US market. If you can't recommend this one, is there another that you could suggest.

Thanks again.

Q: I currently own Sun Life Financial Prefered SLF.PR.F-T (6%) purchased at par ($25) with a reset of June 30, 2104 @ GOC-5 Yr + 3.79. Should I sell now to avoid loss of capital as the reset rate may be somewhat below 6%.

Also I own AIM (Aimia) purchased at $10.00 in 2005 and I have done quite well till now (Ave. gain of 12%). This year it has been on a downtrend and its 10% bellow what it was at the end of Dec. 2013. Is there any reason for this and should I continue holding or sell.

Thanks very much for your great service!

Joseph

Q: Good day 5i.
I am looking to buy some shares in an engineering/environmental/architectural firm. I know that you like STN, but it's a bit pricey for me. I've held SNC in the past, and while I know they are attempting to clean up their act, I'm still nervous about their ethics. Recently I had WSP Global suggested to me. I know nothing about them. Can you provide me with some insight and a buy or not recommendation for WSP.

Thanks for your help.
Brian

Q: Hi folks, I`m a relatively new investor with a portfolio that I consider to be heavily diversified and Dividend Stock oriented. I recently made a contrarian decision and made a speculative play of 5% of my portfolio to Gold ETFs, just BEFORE events in the Crimea became relatively stable. Of course, my positions since then have been beaten down by almost 10%, but my original reason for investing in Gold was for the expected long term return after the last year of brutal decline. Am I being overly optimistic on the upside of gold stocks and am I better off staying on ETFs or should I consider investing in actual miner stocks? Sorry for the long winded question.
