Q: I have ENB.PR.N-T at 4% reset in 2017. My question is how to decide when to sell preferred shares.
Similar preferreds have come available with a higher Dividend. I would sell Enb. as it is above its $25 issue, and pick up the newer issue with 5 years to go. Or could you direct me to a website that could enlighten me on buying and selling preferrers.
Thanks for the great work you and your team do, I have found it very helpful in confirming some of my purchases.

Since march. the stock has dropped 50% and recovered a bit.
I own it and would like to eventually increase my holding.

Q: Hi team:
I am aware that Peter put alot of weight in fundamentals of a company/stock before a recommnedaton is being made
I was watching the market call on BNN recently, and the comments was made re: utilities tend to do well in the summer
I do have FTS and EMA and CU and would not hesitate to add more
Is there any particular reason from a seasonal or fundamental point of view to support this trend ?
(I do have some ZUT in my RRSP as well),

Q: It has been over six months since your last comments on AC.B. I'd be interested in whether or not you view has changed since last October. Yesterday I sold half of our holdings (purchased at under $5). That of course, resulted in a jump of 3.6% today.

Q: ITP/RPI.UN/WPK Packaging stocks. Read your report on WPK and B+ rating. Unfortunately I do not own WPK but do own RPI.UN and ITP. RPI has not disappointed and on a one year return matches WPK -- throw in the divvy for more! ITP has been disappointing. Considering a large profit/ healthy weighting in RPI, a loss/ smaller weighting in ITP. I imagine I see more upside to ITP over the other two. Setting aside the dividend consideration where do you see the most upside of these 3 stocks?

Q: WN: this stock has been doing down a fair bit over the last little while & I was wondering why? Is it to do with their large purchase of a US baker or what? I would like to buy for the long term and have been watching it ready to buy at some point for a good price-I'd love to see a further drop before buying to $75 or so.

Scotiabank is selling its CIX (CI Financial) holding at a price of $31.60 in a just-announced secondary offering. Given that CIX closed today at $33.65, this seems to be a very good deal. What is your opinion? Should I commit to this offering through my broker (no transaction fees), or will the market price of CIX likely decline to meet this price anyway in the next few days?

Q: TCK.B: I have been keeping my eyes on this one for a while looking for an entry point. I realize that this Co. is tied to coal for steel making and copper and zinc which are all economically sensitive. At some point as the EU and Chine pick-up a bit and price increase for their commodities this should help? Is the dividend safe under current conditions-I am retired and own no other resource stocks other than VET, CPG & BTE which with reinvested dividends have served me well over the last 5 yr.

Any update since our last look Apr 2 and the May 15 Investor call? What is your opinion of future prospects considering the equities lackluster performance so far in 2014?

And is there any relationship between CA:NRG & NRG Energy Inc on the NYSE?

Q: Mr. Hodson, this is a question with respect to Orbite Aluminae (ORT). Peter A. Crossgrove, a director of Orbite and Executive Chairman of Excellon Resources, just bought 100 000 shares in the public market. With recent changes such as Claude Lamoureux appointed chaiman of BOD, Shaun Usmar as a new director, and Glenn Kelly as well, would you say there is a ray of hope for the company ? Seemingly, the company is now supported financially to some extent by both the federal and the Quebec Government, and is on the verge of commissioning its high purity alumina plant in the Gaspé area.

Q: For individuals who are self employed, is it better to keep their investments in the company or personally. I have always maxed my RRSP and TFSA, and have an investment account within the business. I know an investment advisor who tells all his self employed clients to not make any RRSP contributions, and invest within the business account instead. What does your math say is the better way to do it?
