Q: re: SW Sierra Wireless

Lots of positive things being reported recently. Has anything you have seen as of late generated additional optimism regarding SW moving forward since your July 2 answer? And would you consider SW a buy or "hold off and wait and see?" SW bucking the trend up 5.89% so far today.

Q: Hello:
I have a fair number of shares in Bell Aliant. With the recent announcement that BCE is going to take over complete ownership I do not know how this will affect my investments in Bell Aliant. Should I continue to hold or sell now. BCE has not announced to my knowledge how this would affect Aliant shares owners.
I would appreciate your opinion and knowledge on this matter.

Q: BA.US Boeing

Recently read an article comparing Boeing & GE. Boeing appeared to have the advantage across the board according to the writer.

I saw you answer for Lloyd back on July 2. Since then BA is down 6%. Does this effect the metrics you provided Lloyd in your July 2 answer? And has you opinion on BA changed regarding Capital Gains in any way with the much reduced valuation?

Q: I am a long term dividend focused investor---I am looking at two utilities, GEI (gibson energy)and CPX (capital power). They have wuperior 10 year dividend growth according to todays globeinvestor article. Would you be comfortable with these as a dividend investment in a long term diversified portfolio for a person 5 years from retirement, as compared to the bigger more well know names enbridge, transcanada and inter pipeline?

Q: I own NA Palladium PDL or PAL.US. I am very nervous about this company. I have heard rumours of bankruptcy. I tried calling the company but no-one would answer the phone.

What is your opinion? The metal prices are not bad at this level.

Q: Hello 5i,

I manage 2 RRSPs in our household. I am running the income portfolio on the larger account and the model portfolio on the other without duplicating crossover stocks . Does this sound like a valid strategy?
I am adding 2 stocks to both accounts and would like you to give me your preference at this time.
For Income portfolio ENB, ET, L, SLW and VNR

For the Model portfolio AYA, CSS , FSV, CCL.B, and DSG

Q: Hi 5i team,

I currently own Black Diamond Group and I am looking to switch into First Service Corp. For a 2-3 year time frame, without considering sector diversification, would you see more upside potential with First Service or Black Diamond Group? Both are in very different industries and are both in your model portfolio, with similar ratings, B and B+ respectively. First Service seems to have stock momentum at the moment whereas Black Diamond has been on a downtrend.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Q: Peter and Team,

I have been looking for a US industrial to add to my portfolio and have been researching UTX for a bit. Would you recommend buying it here even though the technicals are not great. I usually like to but into strength but is there something fundamental that i have missed here?

Q: Hi 5i I currently have a small position in Tourmaline TOU, looking to add to it as the price has dropped, it is the only gas stock I own, would like to add another high quality gas co. but one that also pays a dividend ( doesn't have to be a high dividend ) I'm a very long term investor.
