Q: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-investor/investment-ideas/wi-lan-is-no-investment-for-a-senior/article11347244/ůmr. Mr. Hodson. I thought of sending you the above regarding Wi-Lan (WIN). Any particular comment? Thank you for your attention regarding a once-loved, but increasingly annoying stock. Should you look into the comments, you will see some investors are still supporting the stock, as much as you do. Regards.

Q: Hello, Peter & Staff: After buying Bell Aliant (BA) for my TFSA three years ago at 26.00, it's still at 26.00 today. The dividend is very nice, but no growth after three years is a little discouraging. Now that Telus is at a more affordable price, and even though it's dividend is about half that of BA, I would like your opinion of selling BA and buying Telus - or perhaps Manitoba Tel. Part of my reason for purchasing BA was I thought it might be a buy-out at the time, but it would appear that such is not the case. Thank you for your advice and your much appreciated service. John

Q: Hello 5i team. You last responded to a question on AFN about a month ago. I bought it for a bit over $31 in 2012 and have seen it go over $35. Recently though it's been hit hard like a lot of stocks. Is this a macro or sector issue, or has anything changed in the company's fundamentals to affect the stock price? Is it a good hold for the future?

Thanks, Tom

Q: LIQ has dropped quite a bit recently while other similar stocks are doing OK. What is happening at LIQ that would cause this drop? They have a new CEO, but that should not do it? Is it time to sell, take a loss and buy something else in the sector such as Boston Pizza, or just hang in there. Thanks for your thoughts.

Q: Would you recommend a US dollar Corporate Bond ETF or somewhere to park some US dollars within my RSP? My apologies if it is already posted but I was unable to find anything. Thanks!

Q: Hi Team,
I've been thinking of adding to Petrobakken (PBN) at these levels.
It's currently quite beat up at $7.73/share with over a 12% dividend.
What is your view on their current situation, and do you think the dividend is safe?

Q: wow this thing is taking a pounding. Not sure if its trading along with the broader market (which makes no sense to me). How do you give this stock such a great rating given its model of 'big elephant' hunter? Its lost 20% of its value on the stock in 45 days ish because the elephant is hiding??

Q: Hi, I bought a small position (1.5%) in Martinrea at 8.90$ and have watched it slowly drift all the way down to below 8$/share since their last earnings were reported. While I have not yet ever averaged down I find myself tempted to add some more given my still positive view on the company as a long term hold in my rsp. Any advice on this situation would be appreciated. By the way I also have a 5% position in magna. thanks

Q: HI, a bit of a long shot here, but do you have any insight into Guardian Capital (gcg)? The stock hardly ever trades at all yet their earnings growth and balance sheet seem pretty good. Could this be taken private? Also any idea why they own so many shares of BMO. Thanks very much.

Q: Hi Peter, my question is on Home Capital. I have held for a considerable time, and have learned to live with the low multiple the market applies to this exceptional company. My question has to do with the big banks slowly discontinuing the broker channel for mortgages, does this help, hinder or is it indifferent to HCG? As well, how ugly would the CND housing market have to get for them to miss significantly their $7+ earnings estimate? At 7.5x TY EPS, it really seems like an opportunity.

Q: Vermillion Energy (VET) has fallen significantly in price lately. The graph for the stock price shows no signs of reversing direction from the negative. I have read that factors such as their exposure to Brent prices, the Seaway pipeline, and the likelihood of Keystone approval are all factors that will effect the price. I would appreciate any insight you have on this company. Thank you.

Q: Hello,
What are your thoughts on Gilead Sciences Inc (GILD).
Also, how reliable are reports done by Standard & Poor, Argus and First Call, is one better than the other? I've been reading through a lot of them looking for Biotechnology firms. They tend to disagree, for example one will say buy the other two will say hold or two will say buy the other hold. Targets/Estimates go up or are cut.

Q: Junior golds with mines in production and cash costs below spot prices such as Scorpio Gold (SGN-V). Wait this out, buy more when the technicals show support, or bail? Only direct resource exposure in the portfolio including energy and services stocks is 11% made up of ABX, BAD, SGN-V, and TOU and most of that is BAD and TOU. Energy infrastructure at about another 10%. Do you have any thoughts? This is a great service! Thanks!
