Q: I am down over 24% on a $6K investment in AYA. Would it be prudent to sell at this point to protect the remaining capital and buy back when the down trend reverses. Should I have done that when the stock was down 10%? I hope to learn from this how to deal with a falling stock price rather than just do nothing and hope. Thank you.

Q: Good afternoon 5i
Tekmira: TKM. Holy Hannah. It took a 16% dive today and doesn't look like it's coming up for air. I can't find any news anywhere. I'm down 30% on this one -- and don't know whether to add to it, or just give up on it. Is this "merely" a sector rotation, or am I missing something in Bloomberg's fine print. Thanks!

Q: OMG, I am embarrassed. I misspoke myself when I said "resistance". I meant "support" and realized my error after I pressed the Submit button. There are several things that can be said about AYO from a technical analysis perspective but I won't since this is a fundamentalist's website, except to say that I won't be a buyer until it bottoms out and starts to climb again. And it will, in the fullness of time.
Q: Hi Peter, a couple of days ago I asked for your advice in this space on SWY after its massive financing for Renard diamond project in Northern Quebec, I am holding the shares since 2010 and experienced all the ups and downs also reverse splits and averaging down I am finally in black, is it wise to hold on to this company's shares till production start in 1st quarter of 2016 or take some profits now ?
Your comment is greatly appreciated.
Thank you. M.N

Q: What is your opinion of Lloyds Group? It has been on a down trend for the past three months, could this be a result of heavy selling by the British Government?
Thanks,
Glen

Q: Hi 5i
I have $50,000 that I want to put into an income producing account for retirement. I want it to be relatively secure and produce some monthly income. I have no other investments other than a small company pension. What would you recommend? ETF's or a number of good income stocks, or a bit of both. Do you have any recommendations on the specific etf's and stocks that I should get? I will retire in a year. I really appreciate your help as I have been a member for almost 2 years now and have finally saved enough money to begin a little portfolio.
Thanks again for your recommendations

Q: CUS Canexus The value investor in me is feeling tempted by Canexus. It seems that a low has been established for the stock. The biggest danger for breaking that low would (presumably) be a cut in the dividend. Given that the main business is well understood by the market the speculation would be in NATO upside. Lately the Canadian energy sector has been on fire. Everything is up! It seems shipping by rail has been of benefit. Could you put this picture in a CUS frame for me? My idea is to take a 1/2 position in this price range and wait for good (or bad) news to make the next decision.
Q: A follow up to Paul's. I find it difficult to monitor overall weightings is there a software to automatically update and consolidate multiple portfolios. I am trying to load my families 7 portfolios with some common shares.

Q: What do you think of Blackpearl..PXX..Thanks
Q: I am a big fan of mutual funds and have owned lots of them since 1980 and that is how I first met Peter. I have had an online account for about 7 years and always lost money. Hopefully with your leadership, I will give my online account one more year. Lately have a lot of stocks that are on this recent down trend. 2 I sold once they got down 40%. I have 3 more that are down considerably and at the rate they are going down I am afraid they will be down 40% very shortly. They are LEE U.S. AVO and COM. A few stocks I noticed that are doing well are IBG, BCI and S. Should I cut my losses and get into something like these? Dennis
Q: Regarding your report card in new reports. If this is still under development, could you please use different colours for us old folks, perhaps black on white or white on black
Q: GOOD DAY
Huge volume today on TBE, 44 million plus. I have seen no new releases. Any ideas?
Thanks,
John

Q: Crescent Point Energy has released what appears to be positive results in their work on the Torquay play. The stock is reacting well. I own it and am benefiting from the rise. I know it hasn't been a favourite of 5i in the past but does this update look good? Should we think about selling into this strength?
Q: On Friday VFX (which had a market cap of $8 Million in November) announced it now has revenue of $500,000 per day. The stock rose 25%. Can you tell me what would be a fair market value of the stock?
Q: Hi, 5i Team.
In a diversified ETF portfolio, is there any need or benefit to holding both CDZ and XDV? If not, which one do you prefer?
Thanks,

Q: re:AYA
Wiping my tears so I can type and, I am sure you are tired of hearing about this company.
My position is small ($1,000 & less than 1%) but I am a little tired of watching this precipitous fall.
On Saturday a 5i member commented
"there is a zone of resistance between about $5.75 to $6.13. It touched $6.11 in intra-day trading on March 31st but closed at $6.30. If prices close within, or more seriously, the resistance zone, watch out."
I'm close to jumping ship but would like to hear your thoughts on the aforementioned comment and maybe provide some explanation as to what exactly he is saying. If it gets to $5.75 it will drop to a dollar?
Thanks You Peter & Family
Gord

I am still waiting for another to be corrected T5
Also the tax receipt for MY Resp contribution to wife account was on her name !
Except agent Mr MB, the customer service is terrible.
After the tax season I will transfer all accounts to another broker.

Q: Hi Guys,
This is a couple of questions about Amaya (AYA)
Why is your report so out of date (Sept 2012) for such a growing company?
Why does your opinion differ so much from the market on this company? It is down 25% from the beginning of the year. Obviously the market does not like this company. Is the growth really there? Please provide more than "it's a good company" answer.
Regards
John
