Q: Merry Christmas Peter and Team.
With your help the stock portion of my portfolio has grown and I need to add about 5% to my bond portion.
With no room in a sheltered account TFSA or RRSP could you suggest an ETF or other investment to add bond type safety in a non sheltered account.

Q: I presently hold as much as 25%of my portfolio in th IA Clarington Strategic Fund CCM3550. I was looking at the steady dividend income when I purchased this fund. Can you tell me how rising interest rates will affect this fund (higher dividend or lower). This is for long term, is there a better place for my holdings? Your advice and insight would be greatly appreciated.

Q: Thanks for the quick response to my problem this morning, much appreciated. With your recommendations of CUD and VGG, is ZWA a similar product? Can I have your thoughts and preferences on this one also. Allot of volatility in the markets right now, just looking to park a lump sum of money long term, that pays a decent dividend,[ monthly ] and is some what safe. Thanks again Rick.

Q: With the dividend cut and lower capex announced this evening do you like BNP any better as a hold for yield and growth for the next 12-18 months? I could take a tax loss on it and buy another name in the sector like BTE, SGY, WCP or CPG for potentially better yield & upside? The risk of course is that neither SGY, WCP or CPG have cut yet. Perhaps that's already fully priced in?

Thank you in advance for your response.

Q: Hello All;

Last month I sold my shares of Argonaut Gold (AR) at a steep loss for a tax loss. I have done well on the trade as the stock has continued to fall an additional dollar from where I sold. It is now time to purchase it back, but I am wondering if repurchasing my shares of AR would be the best use of my money. Can you please review the company metrics and provide me your opinion in to whether I should buy back into this stock?

Thanks in advance.

Q: One more question about Surge. I note that the insider buying has remained quite constant during the recent downturn and in large amounts. In addition there has been no sales to speak of. I know that insiders are not infallible but does this not speak to their confidence in the boards ability to maintain the dividend and the recovery in the share price?

Q: Can I get your opinion on Arc. I don't hear much about this company. It seems to have a pretty strong balance sheet and keeps meeting it's numbers. Seems to be balanced between gas and oil and has not announced anything yet on cutting it's spending. I would like to take small positions over the next few months.

Thanks

Q: Hello...I owned this company a while back and sold before it fell off a ledge. The stock seems very cheap and I'm considering buying some. Any thoughts for a long-term hold? The prefs seem attractive too. Thanks.

Q: Seasons greetings everyone
I have a weighting of about 5% in Bellatix and remain optomistic partially because of the involvement of Orange Capital. BXE has allowed Orange a seat on their board and the release states that BXE and Orange have reaced a "standstill" agreement to Nov 30th 2015. What is meant by a standstill agreement, and can you comment on how such an agreement might affect the stock going forward?
Thanks again for your excellent sevice.

What are your thoughts on this selection looking at a 5 yr window. Would one enter now or even though we are having an up day is there more down side to come. Also any other recommendations.
Merry Christmas to you and staff.

Q: Good Morning Peter and team: I would like your opinion on Flowserve in the US. The valuation appears attractive after the "oil sympathy" sell-off, and I'm wondering what you see in this stock. I do not currently own it.
